I had someone ask me how I got into yoga. To be co I had someone ask me how I got into yoga. To be completely honest, I wasn't sure if I was cut out for yoga after my first class. I was really sore for days and felt like I wasn't able to do what everyone else in the class was because I had to take some modifications. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There was something about yoga though that kept me coming back. I ended up realizing that doing modified poses wasn't a bad thing at all, and I was attending classes several times per week.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When I started my 2 year personal trainer diploma I had doing a yoga teacher training in the back of my mind. I knew that it wasn't the right time to do it while I was in school fulltime, but it was definitely something that I wanted to accomplish down the road. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Finally during the summer of 2018 I committed to starting a teacher training in the fall. I signed up with a studio in downtown Calgary that had a great reputation. I learned so much, not only about yoga, but also about myself. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I started my business not long after finishing teacher training, and I started offering in person classes in early 2020. Needless to say that didn't last long because of the pandemic, but I'm looking into ways that I can offer my yoga services online. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Throughout 2020 yoga has been one of those things that's helped me with all of the uncertainty and anxiety of the pandemic. I'm able to be present instead of stressing about the future and what may happen. I'm so grateful to have yoga during this unprecedented time. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Like lots of other people my anxiety has been high Like lots of other people my anxiety has been high this week. Covid cases aren't going down much despite increased restrictions the last few weeks here in Alberta. It can be tough for me to fall asleep at night cause I can't stop thinking. Thanfully @headspace has helped me to focus on something so I don't worry. It gives my brain enough of a break from the worrying to fall asleep.
