My Favorite Calgary Coffee Shops
In today’s blog post I’m sharing some of my favorite Calgary coffee shops.
I’ve been going to all the coffee shops lately, so I thought for today’s blog post I’d share a few of my favorite Calgary coffee shops. Most of them are in the NW, but there’s one that’s in Victoria Park, downtown (Z Crew). Here they are, in no particular order!

Fenyk Coffee and Social
Fenyk is new to me, though I don’t think it’s been there for a long time to begin with (less than a few years). It has a super cute vibe, with quite a bit of space to sit and spend some time there, whether you’re with a friend or getting some work done on your laptop. There’s even a loft upstairs with additional seating. The stairs to get up there are behind the kitchen – I didn’t notice them until I was leaving.

It was a cold and rainy day when I went, so I ordered a hot tea, which was delicious. How cute is their little fox logo stamped on the side of the cup? I got it to go because I knew I was going to hit up a few nearby stores before I was done drinking it. When I was there they were working on their patio, so they’ll have additional outdoor seating soon, if it’s not already finished.

Fenyk is active on Insta, so be sure to follow them here. You can find them online here.
Paris Baguette
The next coffee shop I’m loving is Paris Baguette. It’s a chain, but apparently I’ve been living under a rock because I’d never heard of it before. It’s probably the biggest of all the coffee shops in this blog post, so there’s a ton of seating.

They also had a biggest assortment of food to eat besides drinks, which makes sense considering their name. Most of their pastries were self serve. They had trays with parchment paper to put them on, and tongs to pick out your pastry, so you can take what you like and bring it up to the cashier to order your drink and pay. Out of all of these coffee shops they also had the biggest selection and fanciest things to eat.

I ordered a strawberry smoothie that was delicious – full of fruit flavor without being too sweet. Which is perfect because I picked out a sweet pastry.
Z Crew Cafe
I’ve been to Z Crew Cafe quite a few times over the years and I’ve only gotten delicious things each time. While I’d classify them as a coffee shop, they also have quite a large food menu. The last time I went was mid morning with my dad and boyfriend, so we decided to get brunch.

First off, I ordered a fruit smoothie. As for the food, it was delicious too. I got two sunny side up eggs which were on top of a slice of sourdough bread (it’s hard to see in the photo above). I also had some potato wedges, mushrooms, asparagus, kale, and half a tomato. The food came out pretty quick considering all the takeout they also did.
If you’re near the Stampede grounds and looking to get something to drink or even a breakfast, I highly recommend Z Crew Cafe.
Good Neighbor Cafe
This is going to seen a little weird, but Good Neighbor Cafe is inside a salon. Hear me out though, cause it’s easy to find and worth checking out. So their location is right on a corner. The door on one side leads to the salon, and the door just around the corner leads to the cafe. They’re well marked though, so it’s easy to know which door leads to which part of the business. And really, if you go in the wrong door, it’s not the end of the world.

They had a good selection of both drinks and pastries to eat. I’m not a coffee drinking, and I thought they had a good choice of teas and other non-coffee drinks for me to choose from. I went with a strawberry sparkler, which was quite tasty.

On the ground floor, there’s not a lot of seating on the cafe side. But just past the curtain are some stairs that lead to a loft and a seating area. I’m glad that the guy working there pointed them out to me because I don’t think I would have noticed them otherwise.
There was plenty of seating upstairs, and it was nice to be up there where it was a bit quieter than downstairs. GN Cafe would be the perfect spot to bring a laptop and get some focused work done.
Euphoria
I’ve been to Euphoria a few times now over the years. I know they’ve been open since before the pandemic started. I remember meeting up with a classmate here from when I did yoga teacher training.

When you first step in, it doesn’t look very big, but it does back quite a bit and there’s seating back there as well. If you drive you’ll have to register your licence plate, or else you’re at risk of having your car towed while you’re inside. They’re close to a c-train parking lot, so I think that’s why they have it like that.

I went with a strawberry smoothie which was really good. I don’t know what it was exactly that made it taste as good as it did, but it was delicious. After ordering they gave us a sign for our table so that they could bring the drinks to our table, and we didn’t have to wait for very long because they came out pretty quick.
Alenn Sandwich and Coffee
And the last coffee shop on my list of Calgary coffee shops is Alenn Sandwich and Coffee. There’s been a few different coffee shops in this space over the years, but I think the current one is my favorite!

I ordered a strawberry refresher, which was so good on the day that I went because it was a hot day out. It was flavorful without being too sweet, which is just what I was wanting. While I didn’t order any food, they had quite a large menu of sandwiches to pick from, in addition to lots of drinks as well.

Once again, it’s deceivingly big once you get inside. While it was busy, there were still quite a few tables free for us to pick from. There were people there meeting up with friends as well as people working on their computers. I found it a bit noisier than other cafes though, so if you’re wanting to focus I’d bring some noise canceling headphones with you.

Now that you know which are my favorite, what are some of your favorite Calgary coffee shops? Leave me a comment below telling me where you like to go!
