Summer Beauty Favorites

In today’s blog post I’m sharing some of my summer beauty favorites.

As with most people, I change what makeup I use as the seasons change. During the summer I’m all about lighter layers and all the products that keep my makeup where I want it when it gets hot out and I sweat.

Before I put any makeup on I like to start with a primer. Lately I’ve been using this Pinky B Beauty You Had Me At Primer. I feel like having a good base for your makeup to stay put is key to keeping it where you want it. This primer goes on nice and light and really does make a difference, even on hot sweaty days.

During the summer I swap my blush for bronzer. I alternate between two bronzers, but I’m really loving this JX Bronzer in Luna Bright. A little goes a long way so you don’t need a lot of it on your brush.

I recently bought this Covergirl Lipstick in 200 Satin Slipper. It glides on easily and stays where I put it. I really love this color. It’s the perfect shade of pink. It wasn’t until a few years ago that I finally started wearing lipstick. Up until then I just didn’t like how it felt on my lips. I’m not quite sure what changed, but I now use a few different lipsticks.

I haven’t used a setting powder before, but I thought I’d finally try one. So far I’m really liking this ELF HD Setting Powder. I went with the Soft Luminance shade. It goes on easily but doesn’t leave any sort of color behind. Between this and the primer I think my makeup lasts longer than it would usually during the summer.

I’m all about the lip balms at home, and I love when they have some color to them and I can wear them outside the house as well. This Burt’s Bees Gloss and Glow Balm in 905 Chai Time actually leaves more color than I thought it would on my lips. It’s perfect for giving my lips some color with a relatively light feeling product.
