Friday Favorites: Brunch, A Memoir + Thrifting Finds

Today I’m sharing a few of my favorite things over the past week.

Last weekend I was craving French toast and berries. I recruited by boyfriend and we made brunch together. I stopped at the grocery store on the way over to get a couple things, and before I knew it I was eating some delicious French toast with strawberries and blueberries along with some breakfast sausage. I ended up eating some of the leftover berries on their own cause they were so good.

I’m making my way through the books I borrowed from the library. I just finished reading Lady in Waiting by Anne Glenconner. While I found her hard to relate to for most of the book, it was interesting to get a behind the scenes look at the royal family and especially Princess Margaret. Anne was her Lady in Waiting and had been friends since childhood. It was sad to read about the deaths of two of her sons and the accident that caused a brain injury for her third son. I can’t imagine going through so much loss and the long road to recovery. If you’re looking for a quick read about the British royal family, I think you’ll enjoy this one.

Monday morning I headed out to the thrift store to have a look around. I made out pretty well and came home with a few treasures – all for $7.75! I had been looking a wicker tray for awhile, so I was pretty excited when I saw it on the shelf. Vases are always such a great deal at thrift stores, I almost never buy them retail. There’s always tons to pick from. And the pink and blue flower and blue dishes are perfect for jewelry or snacks or whatever I want to put on them.
