Holiday Wrap Up 2024
Today I’m sharing a recap of my Christmas and New Years.
I hope everyone who celebrates had a wonderful Christmas and New Years. Mine was pretty good. It was low key, but I got to spend it with some of my favorite people.
I spent part of Christmas Eve with my boyfriend. We got brunch from Sunterra. I went with a really good egg sandwich that included a slice of ham. It definitely took it up a notch. I need to remember to add ham to egg sandwiches that I make at home.
Leading up to Christmas I did a ton of baking. I made:
- Gingerbread cookies
- Shortbread cookies
- Cereal peanut butter bars
- Pecan bars
- Chex mix
- Rum balls
I did two batches of chex mix. My brother is the only one who likes pretzels in it, so I did one batch with pretzels, and one without. I also did two batches of the rum balls, since they’re favorites of both my dad and brother. It’s been a few years since I last made the pecan bars. I’m glad I went with them again this year though, cause I forgot how delicious they are.
Both my dad and brother liked the gifts I got them. They can both be tough to buy for, but I think I did pretty good this year. I’m considering what to spend some Christmas money on. I’m thinking I’ll put it towards a pair of binoculars for stargazing or a new laptop. I keep going back and forth on it – I’m having a tough time making up my mind.
As much fun as Christmas is, it’s also a lot of work. I’m happy to have the house back to normal now that the Christmas tree has been put away. I’m also craving some routine, so I’m glad to be back at it. I took time off over the holidays from school work, so I’ll be getting back to that starting today. Girl Guides starts back up again this week so we’ll be meeting on Tuesday night.
