I’m sharing a few of my favorite things from the past week in this blog post.

Was this a long week for anyone else? I’m glad it’s just about over and I’m looking forward to the weekend. While I don’t have anything scheduled yet, I’m excited to spend some time with my boyfriend and spend some time outdoors. It’s hard to believe that summer is nearly over, along with the long hot days. I’ll have to make sure I enjoy them as much as I can while they’re still here.

It’s been awhile since I’ve shared a Friday Favorites post on the blog, so I figured it was about time for one. Read on to find out what I’ve been loving this week.

Essie Base and Top Coats

I realized when I did my nails this past weekend that I needed to get some more base coat and top coat. Essie is my favorite nail polish brand, so I knew I wanted to buy more of what works. I’m all about anything that will keep my nails looking good for as long as possible. This is the base coat (affiliate link) and you can find the top coat (affiliate link) here.

The Winter Street series by Elin Hilderbrand

If you’ve been following me over on Instagram, then you’ll know that I’ve been making my way through Elin Hilderbrand’s Winter Street series. I’m currently reading the last book in the series, Winter Solstice (affiliate link). I didn’t think I’d like them because they’re so short (they’re all in the 250 page range), so that’s why I haven’t read them up until now. I’m so glad I took a chance on the first book in the series though, because they’ve all been so good. Even though the books are on the shorter side, they follow the same family over the years around Christmas time. You really get to know the characters and it’s fun to see how their lives change over time.

Virgin River on Netflix

The fourth season of Virgin River was released a month or two ago, and I’m just now watching it. I shared about watching it a few years ago and since it’s been awhile, I decided to do a re-watch of the whole thing. It’s so good in a slightly Hallmark movie sort of way. I ended up falling in love with the characters of the small town, and the mountain scenery is beautiful. The show is set in Northern California but it’s filmed in British Columbia. Fun fact: Half way through season 4 I realized that one of the actresses in Virgin River was also on Degrassi TNG.
