I’m sharing a few of my favorite things in today’s post.
Has this week flown by for anyone else? Monday was a stat holiday here in Canada due to Easter. I’m blaming it on the four day week. As much as I enjoy the long weekends throughout the year, they always throw off my days. I haven’t shared a Friday Favorites post on the blog in awhile, so I thought today would be the perfect time.
Bulldog artwork
I’ve met lots of dogs in my boyfriend’s neighborhood thanks to taking his bulldog, Winston for walks. One of Winston’s oldest friends is Pablo. I’m pretty sure they met while they were still puppies. Pablo’s owner let my boyfriend know on Instagram that she had a piece of artwork that reminded her of Winston, and wanted to know if he or I would want it. As soon as my boyfriend passed on the message I told him yes. I picked it up from her and Pablo last weekend and I’ve found that perfect spot for it.
Egg rolls from Costco
My dad was at Costco a few weeks ago when he sent me a photo of these egg rolls asking if I would eat them. I sent him back a text saying “yes!” I finally got around to trying them this week, and they were really good. I cooked them in the oven and they turned out nice and crispy on the outside for the most part. I think next time I make them I’ll try them in the air fryer to see if I can get that deep fried consistency even closer. They were quite a bit bigger than I was expecting, so one or two is plenty as a side dish to an entree.
Spring flowers
We’ve gotten a bunch of snow in Calgary the last two weeks. So far we’ve gotten double the amount of snow that we typically get in April. When I put together the grocery order on Monday I decided to add some flowers to it. They’re now sitting on my desk looking pretty. They’re a good reminder that even though it might be cold and snowy outside, spring is coming.
I don’t have anything exciting planned for the weekend. I’ll probably spend some time with my boyfriend and Winston. Have a great weekend!
