I’m sharing a recap of my weekend on the blog today.
I started off my weekend on Friday afternoon getting some errands done. I had been putting them off, but I figured I should get them done before the snow started falling on Saturday. I put gas in my car, picked up a few things at the drug store, and stopped by the post office to buy some stamps. I had originally planned to buy the stamps online, but Canada Post wanted to charge $5 shipping for 16 stamps. $5! I feel like if any online retailer should have a good deal on shipping it should be the post office.

I was able to wear my camel flats while I was doing my errands so that’s what I did. I doubt it’ll happen again until spring comes now that there’s snow on the ground again.
Some Christmas gifts arrived at the door on Friday. I had ordered them a week or two ago so I was able to get them wrapped and ready to go for Christmas. It feels pretty good to have the Christmas shopping started. It always feels like this big overwhelming thing until it’s done.

I did my usual online grocery order this weekend and swung by the store on Sunday morning to pick it up. This week I added a jar of almond butter. I’ve never had it before but I thought I’d give it a try. There weren’t a lot of options for non-peanut butter nut butters, so I’m hoping that this one is good. Do you have a favorite nut butter or brand? Be sure to leave it in the comments below. I’ll be sure to share what I think of this one.

Calgary was supposed to get a bunch of snow this weekend, but thankfully we didn’t get as much as forecasted. It was definitely cold and windy which made it miserable in a whole different way than having a ton of snow. I only left the house on Sunday to get groceries and that was more than enough winter weather for me!

Speaking of hunkering down at home, I spent some time Sunday afternoon continuing to read Endure (affiliate link). I’m still loving it and hearing about the science behind endurance sports. I’m all about learning the how and why behind different aspects of fitness, and this book definitely checks those boxes in terms of running, cycling, and other endurance activities. I really like that this book is so readable too. Sometimes books like this can get really dense and hard to read, but Endure is tough to put done.

I’ve been making more of an effort the last little while to do more self care. This weekend that meant taking a nap and doing my nails. I can’t even remember the last time I took a nap. It was the perfect length – I woke up feeling refreshed instead of still tired and groggy. I put on a new nail polish this week and I like it better on my nails than I did in the bottle. Bachelorette Bash (affiliate link) almost looks red on my nails inside but is actually bright pink outdoors in sunlight. I think it’s going to become a favorite color of mine this winter.
Do you take naps? Is it starting to feel like winter where you live?
