This weekend flew by for me. Did that happen for anyone else too? I honestly didn’t do much, but it was a much needed few days of slower schedules, time spent outside, and even getting in a little self-care. Below I’ll be sharing some of the highlights.
I spent a bunch of time over the weekend reading the backyard. I finished reading The Institute (affiliate link) by Stephen King. I really enjoyed it and it’s now one of my favorite books of his. I highly recommend it if you enjoy Stephen King’s book. I also finished listening to Notes on a Silencing (affiliate link) by Lacy Crawford on Libro. It was also narrated by the author so it was kind of cool to hear her tell her story. I also made a dent in Winter in Paradise (affiliate link) by Elin Hildebrand. It’s the first book of hers that I’ve read that hasn’t been set in Nantucket. I’m really liking it so far.
There’s just something about spending time relaxing in the backyard that feels so good. I’m pretty sure I could spend hours doing that every single day. Unfortunately life gets in the way. I definitely enjoyed being able to enjoy the nice weather and a few good books this weekend though.
I only got in one “real” workout this between Saturday and Sunday. I did a full body strength workout on the Peloton app on Saturday morning. It flew by and I was done it and a quick stretch before I knew it. I love workouts like that – the worst are ones that feel like they’re never going to end. My triceps are feeling it today with all of the skull crushers I did. I also went for a couple walks over the weekend, but those were just getting out of the house and stretching my legs kind of walks. I just felt good to move.
I cooked up another batch of hard boiled eggs in the Instant Pot (affiliate link) after picking up my grocery order on Sunday morning. The Instant Pot is such a quick and easy way to get a bunch of them done at once. I like to have a stash of them in the fridge for when I’m feeling like a snack or want to add some protein to a meal.
I also did my nails this weekend! This is the first time trying out this color and to be completely honest, I wasn’t sure if I liked it at first. I’m very happy to say though that it’s grown on me and I’m now loving seize the minute (affiliate link) by Essie. It’s from their Expressie line, so it’s a quick dry polish. It’s perfect for me because I have a hard time sitting still and waiting sometimes. I think I’ll be using this color a ton throughout the fall and winter too.
What was something fun that you did this weekend? Tell me about it in the comments below.
