Today I’m sharing a recap of my workouts and meals from the past week.
This week was a tough one when it came to workouts. I had zero energy which meant that it was tough to get myself motivated to get them in. I opted for slower paced ones this week as a result.

Workouts
I did two yoga practices this week – on Monday and Thursday. My first yoga session of the week was an ashtanga inspired one. I started off with some sun salutations and some of the standing postures before I did my own thing. It felt really goo for the first half to not have to think about what to do. I had the postures laid out beside my mat so I knew exactly what to do next. Then before I got into the sitting poses I just went with the flow and did what felt good. It’s not something that I typically do because I like to have a plan.

My second yoga practice of the week was a more laid back yin one. I used all of the props including a blanket, block, and two bolsters. Although the above photo is a recycled one, I used the exact same props.
In addition to yoga, I also took a few walks this week. Monday was a bright and sunny day and I knew that it was going to be raining for a few days after, so I took advantage of the good weather and got outside.
Yesterday I needed to get outside again and went for a walk even though it was raining. I had been stuck inside for a few days because of the weather and just needed to get outside and move a bit.

I’m glad that I went for a walk because it felt really good to be out there moving. There’s just something about being in the outdoors that feels so good, both physically and mentally.
Meals
On Monday we barbecued. We’ve only had nice enough weather to do it a few times so far this year. We put some spicy Italian sausages on the grill. There’s something about cooking on the barbecue that makes it taste so much better and cooking the exact same thing on the stove. I paired the sausage with some broccoli that I cooked in the Instant Pot (affiliate link).

This lunch of tuna, coleslaw, egg whites, toast, and a cookie was really good even though I just threw it together. Every once in awhile I have a meal like that where I don’t put much thought or effort into it and it turns out better than I was expecting.

One night I made hamburger helper for dinner. It’s one of those comfort food things that isn’t all that healthy but it tasted really good. I had it again as leftovers the next day and I added some cooked peas to it to add some veggies.

One night I ordered a reuben bake from Vagabond. I was able to order online and go by to pick it up and bring it home to cook. It was so good! Think of it as a deconstructed reuben sandwich. The rye bread was perfectly toasted from the oven too.

Probably my favorite meal lately was spaghetti and meatballs. I loved pasta as a kid. My tastes have definitely changed as an adult, but I still enjoy it every once in awhile. I just used a jarred sauce and frozen meatballs. It was an easy meal to pull together but it still tasted good.

What was your favorite workout from the past week? Favorite meal you ate?
