Happy Monday! It’s hard to believe that the weekend is already over. They always seem to fly by so fast. This morning I’m sharing a few of the highlights of my weekend.
I started off my weekend with a steady state cardio workout at the gym. I hopped on the elliptical for 30 minutes to get in a quick workout. It felt great to sweat and move – it was my only cardio workout of the week. For my cool down I walked the track for 5 minutes. It was tempting to skip my cool down, but I know that they’re important and I knew that I could hang in there for such a short amount of time.

I had an appointment to get some lab work done on Friday. When I made the appointment they booked me for 45 minutes. I was able to get in early though and I was in and out in just 30 minutes. Woohoo! The last time I was there I had to wait over an hour, so I was very thankful that it went so quickly this time around.
Friday night was date night, so I met up with my boyfriend and we headed over to Vagabond for dinner. I went with the chicken burger on a lettuce bun and a salad. Vagabond has the best salads – I think their secret is the dressing. I have yet to try a salad that even approaches how good this one is.

After we finished eating we walked over to doggy daycare and picked up my boyfriend’s bulldog. He was pretty happy to see us, but on the walk back you could tell that he was tired. I guess that’s what a day of playing with friends will do.

My boyfriend and I watched a movie and it didn’t take long for Winston to fall asleep. He was pretty cute when he started snoring. I wish the microphone on my phone picked it up better because it’s adorable.
I picked up a bag of Pop Corner’s White Cheddar flavor. I’ve tried them before and really liked them. They were just as good as I remembered and the perfect snack for a movie.

Saturday started off pretty slow. I spent the morning reading Catch and Kill (affiliate link). It was hard to put the last part of the book down and I ended up getting sucked into it for a few hours and finishing it. I know that it shouldn’t be surprising to me that rich and powerful people get away with so much, but it was astonishing how much Harvey Weinstein got away with and for years – decades even. It’s mind boggling.

I thought Ronan Farrow’s writing was easy to read and very clearly shared the story of Weinstein’s predatory behavior and the later cover up of the story in the media. If you’re at all interested in it at all, I highly recommend it. There’s also a Catch and Kill podcast that I’m currently listening to. It’s also really great and if you like the book, I think you’ll like the podcast too.
Sunday I started off my day with a Group Power class. Never heard of Group Power before? Check out this post where I share all the details about it. The 60 minutes flew by and before I knew it, I was done. That’s one thing that I love about those classes – they always go by so fast. I think it’s partly because I don’t have to figure out what I need to do, I just follow along with the instructor.

I decided that I needed an easy, less intense read after finishing Catch and Kill. so when I saw someone recommend No Judgments (affiliate link) by Meg Cabot, I immediately went onto Libby to see if it was available as an ebook from my library. Thankfully it was, so I spent some time on Sunday reading it.

Other than getting laundry done and working on this blog post the rest of Sunday wasn’t very exciting, though it was productive. I was able to do those “get ready for the week:” stuff done so that I’m able to start the week feeling prepared and organized.
