It’s hard to believe that Monday and the beginning of the work week is already here. My weekend and a fun and relaxing one. Read on to find out all the details.

I started off my weekend by going out to eat with my dad. We ended up at the Mad Rose pub. Neither of us were really craving anything specific, so we thought that pub food would be a good option.

I went with a reuben sandwich which was huge! I honestly wasn’t expecting it to be that big. I was pretty good though. I swapped out the fries that came with it for a salad with a raspberry vinaigrette.

Saturday afternoon I headed over to my boyfriend’s place. While taking his bulldog for a walk we stopped by 5 Vines so that I could pick up a couple ciders that I had spotted there a week or two before. I got a can each of Blog Orange Tangerine and Blackberry Sangria cider from the Common Cider Company.

After dropping off Winston at my boyfriend’s place, we headed out to dinner at Melrose. I think the last time I was there was for a charity Christmas dinner a few years ago. I ordered the beef brisket sandwich on a flatbread and a side salad.

The brisket was delicious and I loved that the salad had apple, grapes, and pecans with a maple balsamic vinaigrette. They were both pretty good and I would get both of them again.

Melrose is actually inside of Cowboys Casino, so my boyfriend and I decided to each spend 5 dollars at the slot machines. We each ended up leaving the casino having made $0.07! At least we didn’t lose any money and we got 10 or 15 minutes worth of entertainment.

Once we’d fed Winston his dinner my boyfriend and I settled in to watch Hunters on Prime. Although the first episode was a long one, I’m glad we stuck with it because I really liked it. I really hope the rest of the season is as good as the first episode.

Winston wasn’t as impressed with our choice of TV – he wasn’t very interested in it.

I was feeling like a savory snack while watching TV and my boyfriend had these in his cabinet. I’d never had them before so I was excited to try them. I’m happy to say that they lived up to my expectations and they were really good.

If you’re able to find them at your local grocery store I highly recommend the smoked paprika and garlic flavor. They were addictive!

Sunday was spent getting some laundry and stuff done around the house in the morning. During the afternoon I was really productive getting some computer work done and planning out my week. I find that spending some time on Sundays to look at the week ahead and plan out what I want to get done always makes me more productive.

I had dinner with my dad and brother on Sunday. We made sausages (pork smokies and turkey honey garlic). I ate one of each and both varieties were really good.
