My Friday started off with a Group Power class at my gym. I’ve done the October 2019 release a few times now and I think I’m finally starting to get the hang of it.

It was a great workout as usual and I was done by the time we finished the recovery track. There’s something about having someone else push me for my entire workout that gets me to put in the extra effort that I wouldn’t if I was working out on my own.
I made some egg bites the day before, so when I got home from the gym I heated a few up. The egg bites were super simple to make. I poured egg whites into a mold, added some shredded cheddar cheese on top, and put the Instant Pot on. Super simple to make and really easy to re-heat when I’m ready to eat them.

I paired the egg bites with a protein shake – this protein powder (affiliate link) is my go to one – and a piece of multi grain toast which isn’t pictured because I ate it while I was putting together the rest of my breakfast. What can I saw, I was hungry!
Friday night was pretty laid back. I half watching some Netflix while scrolling through Instagram. It always feels so indulgent to take one night a week to do nothing, but it’s one of those things that I just kind of need. It feels so good to just do nothing every once in awhile.

Saturday morning I was back at the gym bright and early for a cardio workout. I got there a few minutes after it opened so it was nice and quiet – I even had my pick of the ellipticals. It can definitely be tough to get up early on the weekends, but it’s worth it to avoid a super busy gym.
Saturday afternoon I headed over to my boyfriend’s place for date night. We took Winston for his afternoon walk and when we got back I gave him a favorite homemade treat of his – a frozen strawberry and peanut butter treat. I didn’t even have to ask him to sit for it.

After he ate it he kept licking my fingers and the spot on the floor where he dropped it to make sure he got every single bit of peanut butter. He’s definitely determined.
My boyfriend and I then headed out for an early dinner. We went to our usual Vagabond where I ordered the Tuscan chicken burger and a house salad. It was my first time ordering the chicken burger. It was really good, though it was a lot of food. I ended up leaving behind a bit of the ciabatta bun in favor of the chicken. When there’s too much food you have to prioritize what you’re going to eat! The house salad was just as delicious as usual.

After playing with Winston for a bit after we got back to my boyfriend’s place (he’s all about chasing – and destroying – tennis balls right now), my boyfriend and I split this cherry sour beer while watching Netflix. I love cherry and sour beers, so I figured that I would like this one, which I really did. I like it so much in fact that I would see them getting me in trouble if I had a couple of them – it was so easy to drink.

I had plans to take a Group Power class on Sunday morning but I decided to take a rest day instead. I wasn’t feeling sore or anything, just a bit run down instead. I think my body is still recovering from the cold I had last weekend so I figured I would take it easy and go for a rest day.
The rest of my Sunday was all about getting ready for the week. I got some blogging stuff done (including writing this post), planned out my week, and got some business stuff done.
Speaking of which, I’ll be offering yoga classes in the coming months. Any suggestions for what kind of classes you’d like to see if you’re local (Calgary area)? I’m planning for both intro to yoga and yin/restorative classes, so what would you like to see other than those? Interested in staying in the loop about my yoga offerings?
