Today I’m sharing some clothes that I’ve been admiring online for fall.
When I buy clothes I like to make sure that I get pieces that are well made (so they’ll last) and get ones that are more classic so that they won’t go out of style too quickly. I’ve done the trendy thing before and it gets frustrating when the clothes are perfectly good still but they look dated already.
What you’ll find in this post are pieces that are pretty classic and I could see myself wearing them for more than one year. I like to make sure that I get my money’s worth out of clothes, and a good way to do that is to wear them for more than just one season.
Interested in seeing the clothes that I wear day to day? I share of my favorite clothes here. I also have links to similar items (and sometimes the exact things) so that it’s easy for you to find them.

I’m all about the barbour jackets (affiliate link) right now. I don’t have one, but it’s definitely something that’s on my wish list. I love that they look warm but still stylish and have a fitted look to them.

I like that this one (affiliate link) is a bit longer. It would add that extra bit of warmth and extend the season for me to be able to wear this jacket here in Calgary.

Speaking of staying warm, I love a good pea coat (affiliate link). I love the tailored look of them. They’re also a great option for staying warm when it gets cold and snowy.
This fall I’m all about the sweaters. In the past I could have skipped them all together, but this year I’m all about being warm and cozy.

I’m loving the cabled look of this sweater (affiliate link) from J Crew. It’s such a pretty color and I could see it becoming a go to piece for me during the colder months.
This sweater (affiliate link) would be perfect for layering. Put a collared button down shirt underneath or put it under a blazer. Since it’s a neutral color it would go with so many different outfits.

Speaking of being warm and cozy, I’ve really been enjoying plaid flannel lately, like this top (affiliate link). They’re great for layering on cold days to stay warm.

I also find that they’re really comfy but still allow me to have a put together look. They also look great with jeans which is nice.
I’ve been coming back to stripes lately. This striped long sleeve shirt (affiliate link) is so cute. Once again it’s perfect for layering.

I’m all about comfort over looks for the most part, so I choose flats over heels every single opportunity I can. I love the look of these blue flats (affiliate link). With all of the snow and cold weather we get here in Calgary during fall, heels aren’t always practical, so wearing flats can make all the difference.

I bought these Bean Boots (affiliate link) last year and I’ve absolutely loved them. They’re perfect for cold, wet, or snowy days. Because they’re lined they also keep my feet warm as well as dry.

They also have grippy soles so I don’t feel like I’m going to slip and slide around on ice. They have two variations – the higher ones like is pictured above (those are the ones I bought) and ones that are a few inches lower. I figured I would get more wear out of the higher ones since we have so much winter here in Calgary.
Just in case you have a pair of Bean Boots, or decide to get some, I love this tutorial from Carly the Prepster on how to tie them. It’s how I tie mine and it’s so easy to slip them on and off.
