I hope you had a good weekend – I know that mine was pretty good. I had a mix of relaxing, working out, yoga, and time spent with my favorite people. Weekends like this past one are the best.

I started off my weekend at the gym on Friday with a Group Power class. It’s essentially a Body Pump class and I worked hard!

I was a sweaty mess by the time I was done. The bicep track for this release was intense – I had to take a break part way through. My biceps were sore the next day.

I spent Saturday afternoon back at Passage Studios where I did my yoga teacher training last year. I’m able to audit the teacher training so I dropped in to get a refresher on some things.

It wasn’t until after I finished my 200 hour yoga teacher training that I realized how much there is to know about yoga and how little I knew. You can spend your whole life learning about it and still not know everything. To be the best teacher I can be I know it’ll take a lot of time and effort to learn more.

Afterwards I headed over to my boyfriend’s place for date night. Earlier in the day Winston, my boyfriend’s bulldog was told by a little boy that he was his favorite dog in the whole world. Winston loves being the center of attention and getting all the pets so I know he would have appreciated that.

I played for with him for a bit before we fed him dinner and then headed off to Vagabond for a date night meal.

Vagabond changed their menu a couple weeks ago and while the reuben was on their menu before, when I ordered it on Saturday night I think they managed to put even more pastrami in it. Needless to say it was a lot fo food and I wasn’t able to finish it all.

We were sitting at the bar chatting with the bartender. He thought it was funny how much I love the garden salads. They have the perfect mix of greens to toppings and include cherry tomatoes, carrots, apple, pumpkin seeds, and feta cheese. Plus the dressing they use is so good!

My boyfriend and I spent the rest of the night watching Netflix while Winston napped on and off. He’s usually pretty excited when I’m there (he thinks I’m new and exciting even though I’m there all the time) so he rarely relaxes enough to have a nap. Hopefully my “newness” is wearing off and he’ll be able to take it easy more often when I’m there.

Sunday morning I was up bright and early for another Group Power workout. This one was a new release for me (I think it was an old one), so it was a bit more challenging. It was a really great workout though and I was definitely feeling it in my shoulders by the time I was done.

Once I got home, showered and changed I met my dad and brother for lunch. They both ordered breakfast but I was in the mood for lunch so I got another reuben – I know, 2 in under 24 hours.

It was great to catch up with my family and spend some time together. As a kid and teen I never really appreciated spending time with them, but now that I’m an adult I appreciate it so much more.

I spent quite a bit of time this weekend reading Midnight in Chernobyl (affiliate link). It’s really drawn me in and it’s been tough to put it down. It’s a non-fiction books that covers the events that led up to the nuclear explosion and it’s repercussions.

This week is shaping up to be another busy one. Between work, blogging and work stuff, and a few appointments, I’m going to be busy. I also have some fun stuff lined up too thought. On Friday I have a ticket to attend Etsy’s Made in Calgary market. I’ve found some great Christmas gifts there previous years so I’m hoping that I find some more fun ones this time around.
