I’m sharing my workouts and meals from the past week today. I’m always curious to see what other people are doing for their workouts and meals, so I figure I should share mine too.

Workouts
Sunday
I started off my week with a strength training group fitness class. I took a Group Power (the Y’s version of Body Pump) Sunday morning with my favorite instructor. There’s just something about her energy during classes that makes me want to work harder.

I was a sweaty mess by the time I was done and so tired, but it was a great workout like it always is.
Sunday afternoon I went for a walk with my dad to a really beautiful garden one neighborhood over from where I live. It was my first time walking through the whole thing during the summer. I can’t believe that it’s taken me this long because it was absolutely beautiful.

There were flowers everywhere. Clearly a lot of people put a ton of time into making the garden look so gorgeous. The path through the garden is slightly uphill. I didn’t really notice it until I got to the end and looked back to the end where we started.
Monday
I took my rest day for the week. I was working at the yoga studio on Monday morning. If I don’t get my workouts done in the morning, they’re much less likely to happen, which was the case on Monday.
Tuesday
My first cardio workout of the week was on Tuesday. I spent 30 minutes on the elliptical doing steady state cardio. The last 5 minutes of my workout was a cool down on the track for 5 minutes.

Wednesday
My second cardio workout of the week happened on Wednesday morning. I completed another 30 minutes on the elliptical doing some steady state cardio.

My cool down was another quick one on the track to bring my heart rate down. No matter how slow I try to go on the elliptical, my heart rate just doesn’t want to come down.
Thursday
I was back to strength training again on Thursday morning. I’m finally starting to get the hang of the latest Group Power release which I’m happy about. I’m not the most coordinated person, so having an idea of what exercises are coming next really does help.

Friday
I was back working at the yoga studio on Friday morning, but instead of taking a rest day I took a really great 75 minute flow class while I was there. It was with a teacher that I haven’t practiced with for awhile. I forgot how great her sequences are. Needless to say, I thoroughly enjoyed class and how hard and sweaty I got.
Saturday
My plan for this morning is to head to the gym for another Group Power class. I’m thinking that I’m going to upgrade the plates that I use and go a size up for each of the tracks and see how I feel. Wish me luck!
Meals
I went out for breakfast a morning this week with my dad and brother at Sunset Grill. We all ended up ordering the fruit topped waffle. My dad and brother split sides of bacon and hashbrowns. It was a delicious breakfast.

Earlier this week the weather was pretty hot so I tried to out together meals that didn’t require heating up the over or stove too much. I had some leftover shredded chicken, so I chopped some of it up with some onion, mixed in some mayo, and made some chicken salad.

I served the chicken along side some shredded cabbage and a few crackers.
I grilled mild Italian sausages outside on the barbecue another night for dinner. I decided to forgo the bun and instead had my sausage with some more cabbage, beef jerky, and a chunk of marble cheese.

My dad, brother and I ordered some Italian food for dinner. I went with fettuccine alfredo. It’s been awhile since I last had it and it was just as good as I remembered.

It was a ton of food though, so I was able to get two meals out of it. I reheated the second half for dinner the other night. It was just as good as the first time around.
The one night that I cooked inside I made a stir fry. It included chicken, a package of frozen stir fry veggies, some water chestnuts, and sweet chili sauce. I made some rice to go along with it.

It was a super easy meal to make and there were lots of leftovers. I almost always try to make sure that there are leftover for lunch the next day. I’m all about trying to save time and get as much out of my time in the kitchen as possible.
Another easy meal to make that didn’t require cooking was tuna salad. I mixed in some mayo and relish and served it along some egg white, jerky, crackers, cheese, and shredded cabbage.

Friday night was date night, so I went out for dinner with my boyfriend. We ended up at Greta Bar again (check out our first time there in this post). They serve global street food, so they have a great variety of food with smaller portions. I love it because you can try more than one thing.

We went with ginger beef buns (ginger beef with greens in a bun served taco style), currywurst (German sausages served with ketchup with curry) and soft pretzels, and poutine (It’s a Canadian dish that combines french fries, gravy, and cheese curds). Everything was delicious and we had a really great mix of food.
