Today on the blog I’m sharing a recap of my workouts from the past week.
This was a great week of workouts despite the plantar fasciitis in my right foot starting to flare up. As a result, I took it easy for the second half of the week.

Sunday
I started off my week with am ashtanga yoga class. It was cold and wet morning, so class was packed. I don’t think anyone wanted to be outside, so they opted to take their workout indoors. I loved it because that meant that there was a great energy in the room.

Yoga felt really good, so I decided to take every single vinyasa that was offered to me. In an ashtanga class there’s lots of vinyasas, so I typically opt out of some of them towards the end of class when I get tired and I know that my form isn’t what it should be. I left class sweaty, tired, and happy.
Monday
For my cardio workout on Monday morning I spent 45 minutes on the elliptical followed by 10 minutes on the track cooling down.

I kept myself entertained with some podcasts, so those 45 minutes flew by. I’m so grateful to have something to distract me because whenever I forget my phone or earphones I end up so bored.

Monday night I went to Yoga in Bowness to take a yin class. It was another packed class. The teacher was great at offering lots of modifications and using all the props.
Tuesday
I did another 45 minutes of steady state cardio on the elliptical for my workout on Tuesday morning.

It was another really great workout and I felt like I could have kept going – I was in the zone.
Tuesday night I took a restorative nidra class. The first half of the class was all about the restorative poses, followed by a nidra meditation. I really enjoyed the teacher’s nidra script, and I definitely think that I’ll be back to take it again.
Wednesday
My plantar fasciitis started to flare up on Tuesday, so I decided to take Wednesday as an active rest day. I skipped both the gym and yoga.

The only active thing I did was go for a walk with my boyfriend and his Bulldog puppy. As you can see from my FitBit above, it was pretty slow paced and not very long (there’s so many things for puppies to stop and check out on walks), but it was fun.
Thursday
I thought I’d test out my foot at the gym on Thursday morning. I did a shorter workout on the elliptical – just 30 minutes, and then did my cool down on the track as usual. The gym wasn’t very busy so it was a nice surprise.

Thursday night I went to my favorite yin and restore class. The teacher has the best voice for setting a relaxing feeling for the class. I left feeling really relaxed and ready for bed.
Friday
One of my all time favorite teachers and friend was back after a few weeks of getting subs to teach her Friday morning class. It was so good to see her yesterday and have the opportunity to take her class.

It was a flow and restore class, so we worked hard for the first 45 minutes or so before slowing it down and doing a few restorative poses.
Saturday
Today I’m planning on going to the gym for a cardio workout.
What was your favorite workout this week? What’s your favorite kind of yoga class to take?
