Happy Friday! Another week has come and gone. Do you have any fun plans for the weekend? The only things I have on the agenda are date night with my boyfriend, finishing a good book, and going to yoga. It think it’s going to be a great weekend.
My workout yesterday almost didn’t happen. I had a tough time falling asleep on Wednesday night, so when my alarm went off at 6 am it was really hard to get off. I pressed snooze a few times and then decided to just turn it off and go back to sleep and skip the gym.

As usual, I’m glad I went once I got started working out. I definitely need to work on getting to sleep earlier because being tired in the morning makes it really tough to wake up in the morning. I did 35 minutes of steady state cardio on the elliptical and then a 5 minute cool down on the track.
I’m going to be sharing some of my favorite things from the past week in the usual Friday fashion over here on Get Fit Fiona.

Classical music on Spotify
I’be been taking advantage of Spotify and I’ve been listening to classical music when I’ve been working. I like working with music on in the background because it blocks out any distractions. On the other hand I sometimes get distracted if the music has words.
I’ve found the perfect solution for me – classical music. I love that Spotify has so many pre-built playlists to pick from, and I’ve really been enjoying the Classical Essentials and Chilled Classical ones.
Coffee with good friends
This week I met up with a friend for coffee. We don’t get together as often as we both would like, but when we do we pick right back up like it’s only been a week or two since we last saw each other.
We decided to meet up at Phil and Sebastian in Marda Loop because it was halfway between the two of us – we live on opposite ends of the city. I hadn’t been to that location before. I’d so glad we went there because it was really cute and had a great vibe.
The two of us ended up talking for an hour and a half before we left. It felt so good to catch up. She’s been such a good friend to me – and one of my longest lasting friendships. We’ve been friends for 20 years now.
Listening to podcasts in the car
When I bought my car a few years ago it was equipped with bluetooth so that I could answer phone calls and listen to music from my phone. The phone call feature was easy to figure out, but I hadn’t been able to get the bluetooth working for music or podcasts.
I finally managed to figure it out this week! I love listening to podcasts, so I’ve been loving being able to listen to them in the car now too. I’m always trying to catch up on podcast episodes that I want to listen to, so I’m hoping that now that I can listen to them when I’m driving I won’t be so far behind.
