Another weekend has come and gone! They always seem to go by so fast. This weekend was a pretty good one, including a parade, some good food with my dad, and yoga.
Comic Con Parade
My weekend started a bit early this time around. My boyfriend, his Bulldog puppy Winston, and I headed downtown to take in the Comic Con parade. We got to see some amazing costumes – including a Moaning Myrtle in a toilet! It was so cool to see such a creative Harry Potter costume. They also had some celebrities in the parade, so I also got to see Christopher Lloyd from Back to the Future and Sean Astin from The Goonies and Lord of the Rings.
While my boyfriend and I didn’t dress up, Winston was wearing a Batman bandana. He got lots of compliments on it. HE didn’t mind having it on at all.
Lunch with my dad
On Saturday my dad and I decided to go out for lunch. We decided on a pub, where I ordered the maple barbecue cheeseburger, and he got the shepherd’s pie.
Even though I got my burger lettuce wrapped instead of a bun, it was delicious. There’s just something about a good burger that’s so delicious.
Saturday afternoon the weather changed drastically. The wind started up and first rain, and then snow started coming down pretty hard. There was even a blizzard warning for just east of Calgary. Driving conditions were really bad with icy and snow covered roads and little to no visibility.
That’s ice stuck to my bedroom window, and that dark thing on the left is a tree. Most days you wouldn’t have any problem identifying it, but the window was so icy and there was so much snow coming down, it was just a big, dark thing.
Needless to say, I was very glad that I didn’t have to leave the house last night. There were a ton of accidents and cars were in the ditch along the highways outside of the city.
Karma shift training
Sunday morning I finished up my karma staff training at a local studio. In exchange for a few hours of work per week I get unlimited yoga. I’m pretty excited be be a part of a great team, not to mention addition to the yoga. Everyone I’ve met and trained with at the studio has been so great.
What was the highlight of your weekend? Does it feel like spring yet where you live?
