This week was a good mix of cardio and yoga. I’ve been embracing slower paced classes at studios. There’s something about being forced to slow down that’s good for me.

Sunday
I wasn’t feeling cardio, so instead I decided to do a Hips N Hammies class. It was a great class and I left with my hips feeling amazing! I’ve only gone to a handful of hips n hammies classes over the years, but clearly I need to go to more.
Sunday afternoon I went over to my boyfriend’s. We walked his bulldog puppy, Winston, so I got in about 30 minutes of movement. It’s never much of a workout because Winston has to stop and sniff everything, but it still felt pretty good to move.
Monday
I got two workouts in on Monday – cardio at the gym and a yin yoga class at a studio.
I did 40 minutes on the elliptical for steady state cardio. I was listening to a playlist I hadn’t played in awhile so it was a great distraction, cause sometimes the elliptical can get a bit boring. My cool down was 10 minutes of walking the track.

Monday night I took a yin yoga class. It felt really good to just slow down and just be, even if it took my mind awhile to catch on. It’s so easy to get caught up in to do lists and thinking about what I need to get done the next day. Needless to say, it was exactly the yoga class that I needed.
Tuesday
Rest day.
Wednesday
Rest day.
Thursday
I spent 30 minutes on the elliptical for another cardio workout. I just wasn’t feeling it though, so I ended up going just a bit faster than my warm up pace.

Even though I didn’t push myself I still got sweaty, so I’m counting it as cardio. My cool down was once again 10 minutes of walking the track.
I spent almost an hour with my boyfriend and his puppy going for a walk. We actually covered a lot of ground around his neighborhood. Winston met quite a few people who knew him and got lots of attention and pets.
Thursday night I went to a yin and restore yoga class with a teacher that I really like. She’s actually hosting a couple weekend retreats in 2019 and I’m hoping to go to one of them in October.
Thursday’s class was a really slow paced yin class. In contract to Monday night, my mind was (mostly) in the moment and it felt pretty good. I was present and in the moment much more than I was on Monday’s class.
Friday
Yesterday morning I attended a flow and restore yoga class. The teacher really pushed us, so I ended up working harder than I would have if I had practiced at home. I was so sweaty that there was sweat dripping off my nose onto my mat during the prasarita poses.
Saturday
My plan for today is to go to the gym to get in an elliptical workout and then possibly a yin yoga class.
What was your favorite workout of this last week? Favorite kind of yoga class to attend?
