Good morning and happy Friday – the first Friday of 2019! I’m looking forward to this weekend – I have some fun things planned.
Tonight my dad, brother and I are going out for dinner. Apparently my brother is wanting to eat at East Side Mario’s. I don’t think I’ve eaten there since I was in university, so it’ll be nice to check it out again. Afterwards we’re going to see Holmes and Watson with Will Ferrell and John C Reilly. They’re both so funny together (Stepbrothers, anyone?) and I’m definitely looking forward to laughing.
Tomorrow I’m hanging out with my boyfriend. We have a couple things that we have to get done, including taking his bulldog puppy to the pet store to get more treats for his training classes.

Is anyone else glad to get back to their routines after the holidays? It was definitely fun to celebrate but I’m a creature of habit, so I’m happy for things to get back to normal. I thrive on routine and I’m definitely a happier person when I’m back to my normal routine.
In the usual Friday fashion around here on Get Fit Fiona, I’m sharing some of my Friday favorites from the last few weeks. Be sure to add a favorite of yours in the comments below.

Lightly salted cashews
With all of the sweet treats over the holidays (and believe me, there were a lot of them!), these lightly salted cashews were a perfect alternative when I wanted something to snack on that wasn’t sweet. I feel like you get the best of both worlds with lightly salted nuts – you still get some of savory flavor without being too overpowering.

The Curse of Oak Island
This is definitely a guilty pleasure TV watch for me. I’ve been watching it for years now. Even though they never seem to find anything significant, I still keep watching, hoping that they will at some point. They always seem to edit the previews for the next week to make it seem like they find something.
To be completely honest it would be pretty fun to spend a week or two out there on Oak Island and go treasure hunting. Is anyone else watching this season too?

Pillars of the Earth
I first read Pillars of the Earth (affiliate link) by Ken Follett 10 or so years ago and I really enjoyed reading it back then. I was looking for something to read last week, and when I saw it on my bookshelf I thought I’d read it again. I wasn’t able to remember the details of the story lines before I started reading it again. I’m really enjoying it the second time around. If you like big, epic books where you really get to know the characters, try Pillars of the Earth. My only complaint about this book is that it’s heavy because it’s just under 1,000 pages. I’d definitely suggest reading this one on an ebook.
Wireless headphones
With lots of people making New Year’s resolutions that involve going back to the gym in 2019, I wanted to share how much I like these Anker Wireless Headphones (affiliate link). My brother got them for me last Christmas, and I have nothing but good things to say about them now that I’ve been using them for a year. I’m going to write a review on them for in the next month or so, so be on the lookout for that.
