I hope you all had a good weekend. I took full advantage of the long weekend. I feel like I was good at getting things done while also having some fun too.
Friday

My weekend started off a bit early because I went out for lunch with my dad. We went to a local pub. The Mad Rose, where I got a chicken sandwich with cranberry mayo and brie cheese. It was delicious! There’s something about the combination of chicken/cranberry/brie that’s just so good. I had a caesar salad on the side and a Strongbow cider.
Saturday
I started off my Saturday morning by getting some blog work done. It felt really good to cross some things off my to do list.

After lunch I headed over to my boyfriend’s place to meet his new bulldog puppy. He’s so cute! There were a lot of cuddles and belly rubs that happened.
For dinner we made homemade pizza. Besides the basic tomato sauce and cheese, we also put pepperoni, black olives, sun dried tomatoes, and artichoke hearts on the pizza. Why has it taken me this long to put artichoke hearts on pizza? They were so good! I meant to take a photo but by the time I remembered the pizza was all gone.
Sunday
I was up bright and early on Sunday morning to get to the gym. When I looked out the window it was snowing, so it took a bit of extra motivation to get myself out the door and into the cold and snowy weather.

Once I got to the gym I spent 25 minutes on the elliptical for some steady state cardio. It felt really good to get moving and sweat. It wasn’t a very long workout, but it was just what I needed.

While I was on the elliptical I listened to part 1 of the UFO episode of the Unexplained Mysteries podcast. While I’m still not sold on if UFO’s are real, it was really interesting to learn about the history of sightings that started in the 1940’s and 1950’s.
I stopped by the grocery store on my way home from the gym to pick up a few things that I needed to make stir fry beef noodles for lunch. As usual for recipes that I get from Budget Bytes, it turned out delicious. I made a few modifications including using fettuccine instead of rice noodles because that’s what I had in my pantry.
I spend the rest of the day doing laundry and getting some things done around the house. I was pretty productive so it felt good to be able to start the week feeling like I was ahead of the game.
After dinner I decided to watch a movie on Netflix. I decided on Due Date I really liked Zach Galifianakis in The Hangover trilogy, so I thought I’d like Due Date too. I was in luck because Due Date was really similar to The Hangover movies. It was one of those silly movies that makes you laugh, and that’s exactly what I wanted.
Monday
I had to get some errands done on Monday morning. Monday was a stat holiday here in Canada because Remembrance Day fell on Sunday this year.
I spent the afternoon reading The 19th Wife (affiliate link) by David Ebershoff. For the last year or two I’ve been taking full advantage of the fact that my library offers ebooks. I can download them from home and then return them from my phone, which means that I don’t even have to set foot in the library.
What was the highlight of your weekend?
