How is it already Halloween tomorrow? The last few months have been flying by. I thought I’d share a recap of October and share some highlights.

I had a friend come into town and we were able to get together for a movie with a few other friends. We saw Venom in 3D (I can’t remember the last 3D movie I saw). It was pretty good for a superhero movie, though I was a bit disappointed with the ending. It was great to spend time with some of my favorite people.

We celebrated Thanksgiving the first weekend of October. The meal was delicious with the usual turkey dinner things – stuffing, veggies, and cranberry sauce. Dessert was some beautifully decorated sugar cookies from Sweet Relief.

Yoga teacher training

I did two weekends of yoga teacher training this month. During the first weekend we spent a ton of time talking about yoga philosophy (you can read the recap here).

This past weekend we focused more on the physical practice and the poses. I taught for the first time! It was only for 10 minutes and just to 3 other people, but it was nerve wracking. I’m glad it’s done now and it went well.

First aid recertification

I have to re-certify my first aid every year to keep my personal trainer certification, so I spent a day getting that done. Even though I do it annually I always come away with something that I had forgotten since the last time. Thankfully I’ve never had to use my first aid skills – hopefully it stays like that!

I actually ended up buying some face shields on Amazon for CPR. They fit in a little pouch that I can fit on my keychain so it’s always with me when I’m out. We were told that first aiders don’t give breaths anymore during CPR unless they have a face mask, so I thought I’d be extra prepared. Once again, I hope I never have the opportunity to use them!

What was the highlight of your October? Share about it in the comments below.
