Today I’m sharing a recap of my Thanksgiving long weekend. Spoiler: I ate some delicious food and relaxed!
Friday
I spent the night at home, which was exactly what I needed. I ended up watching Friday the 13th Part 5 on Netflix. I figured that since Halloween is coming up, I might as well watch a horror movie. I love cheesy horror movies from the 70’s and 80’s that are more funny than they are scary. Friday the 13th Part 5 definitely fit the bill. I had fun watching it even though it was super cheesy.
Saturday
I was pretty productive Saturday morning working on some behind the scenes blog stuff that I had been putting off for while, so it felt good to finally get it all done.

Saturday afternoon I headed downtown to pick up some cookies I’d ordered from Sweet Relief for dessert for Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday. They were so pretty – the amount of creativity that went into them was so impressive.
I then headed over to my boyfriend’s place since the bakery wasn’t too far from him. We watched the final two episodes of season 1 of Castle Rock. We both really enjoyed the first season, so we’re looking forward to season 2, Has anyone else watched it? What did you think?

We then ordered some dinner on Skip the Dishes (we decided on shawarma – so delicious) and watched some hockey. Seriously, what did we all do for dinner before Skip the Dishes and Uber Eats? We also split a really good beer – Rogue Marionberry Sour Ale. That’s definitely one that could get me in trouble because it was just so tasty.
Sunday
I spent a good part of the day helping with Thanksgiving dinner. We celebrate Thanksgiving here in Canada in October, six weeks before Thanksgiving is celebrated in the US.

The meal was delicious – I had turkey with gravy, stuffing, and carrots. I was in charge of dessert, I brought out the decorated sugar cookies and a pint of slated butter caramel ice cream that I got from Made by Marcus. Both were big hits with my family. I was the only one who’d had Made by Marcus ice cream before, but my dad raved about it.
Monday
Since Monday is the stat for Thanksgiving, I had the day off. I stopped by the grocery store in the morning to get a few things. I spent most of the rest of the day relaxing – it was the perfect way to end the Thanksgiving long weekend.
What’s your favorite part of Thanksgiving dinner?
