Today I’m sharing my top reasons to get your workout in first thing in the morning.

You’ll get it done
I find that if I leave my workout for later in the day, it’s less likely to happen. My workout won’t be put off for a last minute trip to the grocery store for 1 forgotten ingredient for dinner, or just feeling drained after a long day at work. Making your workout a priority means that it’ll get done despite the things that will pop up later on in your day.
More energy throughout the day
I know that it sounds counter intuitive, but I always seem to have more energy on the days that I workout. I typically go to bed earlier on nights that I workout in the morning before work, so that could be part of it, but I honestly think that a lot of it is just getting in a quality sweat session.
Me time
Working out is me time in my mind. I get to have some time on my own, doing exactly what I want to do. Trip to the gym and my yoga practice are stress relievers for me, I don’t know what I would do without them!
Starts my day off right
The days that I workout before work are just better. Knowing that I started my day doing something good for myself (both physically and mentally) puts me in a good head space for the rest of the day. Especially during the winter months when it’s so dark, snowy, and cold out, it feels good to do something that makes me feel good.
The community
Just like with yoga, I like the sense of community there is with the other people who are at the gym before work. They’ve all gotten up early to be there before work like I have. There’s a sense of camaraderie.
Do you workout in the morning? Why do you workout before work?
