I had a pretty good weekend – I was able to spend some time with my dad on Friday, I went to a Harry Potter trivia night on Saturday with some friends, and I was able to take it easy on Sunday. Read on for all the details.

I took my dad downtown on Friday to check out a burger place the had had never been to before. I took him to Naina’s, which makes stuffed burgers. He got a bacon mac and cheese stuffed burger, and I want with one that was stuffed with pulled pork and Granny Smith apple slices. My burger was delicious – better than I was expecting even.

We then walked over to Sweet Relief bakery where we got my dad’s favorite – banana cream pie. I saw on their Instagram feed that they were making some this weekend, so I knew I had to get one for my dad.

Our last stop downtown was Village Ice Cream. They have some seriously good ice cream. I went with a scoop of vanilla in a waffle cone. We ended up walking back to my car to eat the ice cream in there because it was cold outside. Things things we do for delicious ice cream!

I spent Friday night on the couch watching Netflix. I decided on London Has Fallen. It had lots of action and I didn’t have to think too hard to follow the plot. It was exactly the night that I needed.

I met up with some friends at a pub downtown for Harry Potter trivia. It was a lot of fun, plus it was cool to be surrounded by other Harry Potter fans. Although I’m a huge fan, have seen all the movies, and have read the books multiple times, I found some of the questions tough – they take their trivia seriously! One of the questions that I couldn’t get was “name one of the seven books that Lockhart assigned while he was teaching Defense Against the Dark Arts”. I had to leave early, but I was able to stay for most of it.

I spent most of Sunday getting ready for the week. I made beef stroganoff for lunch on Sunday as well as lunches for this week. It’s one of those recipes that I made probably once a month because it’s so good.

I watched a couple episodes of Gilmore Girls. I’m almost done – I’m currently in season seven, which is the final one. It’s hard to believe that Gilmore Girls ended 11 years ago already. I like putting Gilmore Girls on because I can cook or get things done awhile it’s on in the background. I’ve watched it so much that I know all the story lines.
