Since I haven’t posted about my workouts in awhile, I thought that I’d recap my workouts from last week.

I was all about the yoga and cardio last week. Apparently I wasn’t feeling the morning workouts because I only got to the gym two mornings. The rest of my workouts were either in the afternoon or evening.

Sunday

I started off my week with an ashtanga practice. I t’s bee a long time since I last did ashtanga at a studio. It felt so good to be back where I first fell in love with ashtanga. I haven’t been there in awhile because of my budget, but it felt just as good as the last time I was at the studio.

Monday

I took advantage of the long weekend and went to the gym a bit later in the morning because I didn’t have to be at work for some cardio. I did steady state cardio for 30 minutes followed by a cool down on the track to get my heart rate back down.

Tuesday

I made my way to the gym again on Tuesday morning for another cardio workout on the elliptical. I then went to the gym again in the evening for a yoga class. I was called gentle yoga, but I was sore for two days afterwards. I guess I worked harder than I thought. It was a new to me teacher so it was nice to get a different class.

Wednesday

I did a wall yin class at the gym on Wednesday evening after work. We spent most of the class at the wall after a quick warm up. The teacher said that she does these wall yin classes the first week of every month, so I’ll have to make sure that I take it again the first week of October.

Thursday

I took a rest day on Thursday.

Friday

I finished work a bit early on Friday so I was able to make it to the gym for another yin class. My hips and shoulders were feeling pretty tight when I got to class, but they felt so good after class.

Saturday

I took my last rest day of the week on Saturday.

Recipes

In terms of food, I didn’t actually make many recipes this week because of the short work week. I cooked up some beef stir fry noodles (you can find the recipe here) and honey mustard pork chops (recipe is here).

Friday night I ordered in Greek food. It was so good. I went with beef souvlaki, Greek salad, roasted veggies, and pita bread. It’s been awhile since I last had Greek food, so it tasted extra delicious.
