Another weekend is over! It’s heard to believe that this is the last week of August and September first is on Saturday. How did the summer fly by that fast?!?! This weekend ended up being the weekend of the action movies because I watched two of them. They’re not typically my go to genre, but they were both pretty good.

Friday

It was date night on Friday, so I headed over to my boyfriend’s place for dinner. We made quesadillas for dinner – chicken, green pepper, onion, and cheese. We ate them dipped in sour cream and salsa. They’re messy to eat but so delicious.

I tried this new to me beer – a Kronenbourg White Red Fruits. It was so good – fruity without being too sweet. My boyfriend isn’t a fan of sweet beers, and he really liked this one too.

Once we were done dinner we decided to watch The Hitman’s Bodyguard. It was actually better than I was expecting it to be. Ryan Reynolds is easy on the eyes and Samuel L Jackson is usually pretty good too.

Saturday

I spent the day with my mom on Saturday. She wasn’t feeling very good and my dad was going to be gone all day, so we decided that she should have someone close by. I ended up watching another movie – Den of Thieves this time. It’s was a pretty good heist movie. Gerard Butler and O’Shea Jackson (I know him from Straight Outta Compton where he played his dad, Ice Cube) were in it.

It was a pretty laid back day – so much so that I even took a nap. It was one of those naps that’s just long enough to leave you feeling refreshed, but not so long that you wake up feeling groggy.

Sunday

I spent Sunday morning doing some shopping. I first headed out to a thrift store to have a look around. Nothing caught my eye, so I went to the grocery store to pick up some groceries for the week.

Even though I’m not in school, September and back to school always feels like a bit of a new beginning to me – a time to look back over my goals for the year and really make a push to make sure that I achieve them, or modify them a bit if I need to.

It’s definitely feeling like fall. The days have been cooler and the air  has a crisp feeling to it. I decided to light a new candle from Bath and Body Works while I was working at my desk on Sunday afternoon. There’s a hit of citrus in it which I’m really loving.
