Today I'm sharing the highlights of my Canada Day long weekend.

First off I have to say happy Canada Day to my fellow Canadian readers. I hope the weather was good where you were and you were able to do some celebrating outdoors. Sunday night I was able to hear fireworks, but not see them from WinSport, where the 1988 Winter Olympics were held. Because Canada Day fell on a Sunday, Monday was the stat so I had the day off. I know 3 day weekends are only one additional day off, but they always feel so good!

Friday

I spent Friday night on the couch watching Netflix. It wasn't a very exciting start to the weekend, but it was just what I needed. While I really enjoyed watching Gilmore Girls on TV and was excited for the reboot, it was absolutely terrible. I was annoyed at the ending (Rory would have never gotten herself into that situation), and as a result I haven't wanted to re-watch the series on Netflix. I decided to give it a try on Friday, and started with Rory's first year at Yale. So far so good, as long as I try to imagine that the reboot didn't happen.

Elliptical and Bike Workout

Saturday

I started off my Saturday at the gym. I did 15 minutes on the bike (which I totally wasn't feeling for some reason), and decided to get on the elliptical to finish off my workout. After 20 minutes on the elliptical I spent 10 minutes walking the track for my cool down. Saturday night was date night so I went over to my boyfriend's place. We made chicken quesadillas and watched TV. I tried an amazing clementine and pineapple cider that was so good! We're still catching up on season 2 of Westworld (I think we watched the third last episode). I was in the mood for something a bit lighter so my boyfriend suggested Game Night. It was pretty good and I'd definitely recommend it if you're looking for a movie that will make you laugh.

Sunday

Sunday was a rest day for me so instead of heading to the gym I went for a walk around my neighborhood first thing in the morning. It felt really good to stretch my legs. After my walk I decided to stop by Tim Horton's and get coffees and Tim Bits for my parents and brother, since we were all going to be at my parent's place. I just might have earned favorite child status for a little while.

Later in the day I caught up on some blog work and watched some Netflix. I read some of The Child Finder (affiliate link) before going to bed. I stayed up later than I was planning to because it's so good and really hard to put down.

Treadmill Workout

Monday

I started off my holiday Monday morning at the gym on the treadmill. Looking back, I think this was my very first time on the treadmill at this gym – my go to forms of cardio are the elliptical and bike. Crazy, huh? I spent 30 minutes doing an incline walk and then spent another 5 doing my cool down.

Stir Fry Beef Noodles

For lunch I made a new to me recipe, stir fry beef noodles from Budget Bytes. It was pretty easy to make and really flavorful. I'll definitely be making this one again. I'm planning on using the leftovers of this recipe for lunches this week.

The rest of my Monday was pretty low key, getting some things done around the house to get ready for the week and reading some more of The Child Finder.
