I’m sharing my favorite things from the past week in this Friday Favorites post.
It’s hard to believe that June is just about over and July is almost here! Since Canada Day is on Sunday, I get Monday off because it’s a stat holiday. I’ll definitely be enjoying my 3 day weekend. I don’t have anything exciting planned, but I’m hoping that it’ll be a relaxing holiday weekend.
Quality time with good friends
This week I was able to spend a couple hours with a really good friend of mine – in fact, she was one of the first friends I made when I moved to Calgary over 20 years ago. We decided to meet up at the mall and shopped for awhile before we got smoothies and talked for awhile. We hadn’t hung out one on one in what seems like forever, so it was so good to catch up with her.
Bath and Body Works 3 wick candles
Speaking of the mall, while I was there I decided to check out the 3 wick candles at Bath and Body Works. I had gotten a couple for my mom for Christmas and she’s really enjoyed them, so I wanted to get one or two for myself. I knew that they were having their semi-annual sale, so I thought that I’d see what candles were on sale. I decided to get the Ocean Mist and Citrus one – it smells amazing. Buying candles is a huge splurge for me, so being able to get it at more than 50% off was pretty nice.
Rice Krispie Squares
I made some rice krispie squares earlier this week and they were so good! I can’t remember the last time I made them. They’re so simple but so tasty at the same time.
Channing Tatum dancing on Jimmy Kimmel
I’m a few months late on this since it aired back in November, but I found this video on Netflix and it was too good not to share it now. It’s hard to go wrong with Channing Tatum dancing.
Secret City on Netflix
I’ve only watched the first episode of this show, but I’m already hooked. If you’re a fan of thrillers and government cover ups, check out Secret City. I’m looking forward to watching the rest of season 1. Alan Dale (who played Caleb on The OC) plays the Autralian Prime Minister, and Mekhi Phifer (who I know from his time on ER) plays the American ambassador to Australia. IMDB says that there’s two seasons, so I hope that the next one will be on Netflix soon.
