Sunday

I spent my workout on Sunday on the track at my gym. I ended up going on Sunday afternoon, so I was expecting the gym to be pretty busy. I was happy to discover though that it wasn’t too bad, and the track was even less busier than the rest of the gym. I spent 35 minutes walking. I managed to get my heart rate up into the high 130’s, so I was happy with that.

Tuesday

My workout on Tuesday was an at home yoga practice. I focused on the standing and sitting postures of ashtanga yoga’s primary series. It felt really good to do it, as my back was a bit sore from work.

Wednesday

I did a barre workout on YouTube. Unfortunately I didn’t bookmark it after I did it, and now I can’t find it to link to it. Barre workouts always seem so unassuming until you get into it and your legs start shaking. Seriously, such small movements but so much burning!

Thursday

Thursday was a rest day.

Friday

It was a snow day for me on Friday, so I stayed home instead of going to work. Seriously, when is this winter going to end? Because I didn’t have to go to work I decided that I’d start the morning with another yoga practice. I did a very similar practice to Tuesday’s. I need to start my days with yoga more often because it felt so good!

Saturday

My plan for today is to head to the gym before the snow starts again. We’re getting up to another 10 centimeters, so I’m hoping that I can get in a group fitness class before it gets too bad. I’m still not 100% sure which class I want to take.

Food

I made three meals this week. Since I typically only cook for myself, I find that three meals usually cover all of my lunches and dinners for the week with one meal out (this usually ends up being date night with my boyfriend). I also bought a bag of spinach this week, so most days I had a salad or two before my meals. In addition to the spinach I also added cherry tomatoes, black olives, cucumber, and pumpkin seeds.

Skillet Cheeseburger Pasta

I’ve made the skillet cheeseburger pasta recipe from Budget Bytes before, so I knew that I would like it. It’s perfect to take to work with me for lunches because I’m usually cold by that point since I’m constantly going from the workshop to the greenhouse moving trays of plants. Having something warm and filling helps since it still feels like winter. The snow has just started melting this week.

Naan Pizzas

My boyfriend and I ended up making pizzas on naan bread a couple weeks ago for a low key night in. It ended up being so good that I thought I’d make them again for dinners this week. Toppings varied depending on what mood I was in. They included prosciutto, pepperoni, black olives, bell pepper, onion, mushrooms, and of course the usual pizza sauce and cheese.

Beef stroganoff

Beef stroganoff has been a favorite of mine for the last year or so. It’s a relatively budget friendly recipe, which is always a bonus. This recipe is super easy to make. Although the recipe doesn’t include mushrooms, I feel like it has to have mushrooms to really be beef stroganoff, so I always add them in.

What was your favorite workout this week? Favorite meal?
