Weekly Workouts


I did an at home strength workout on Sunday.  I focused on upper body movements, but also added in a few squats and lunges to balance things out a bit.


My workout on Monday was 35 minutes of steady state cardio on the elliptical. Since it was a holiday Monday I was expecting the gym to be busy and wasn’t sure if I would be able to snag an elliptical, but thankfully it was surprisingly quiet, so I had no problem hopping on an elliptical.


I was in the mood for yoga on Tuesday after work, so that’s what I did. Since it’s been awhile since I was last at an ashtanga class, I got out my pose guide as I didn’t trust myself to remember the poses in order without some help. I did the ones that I would usually do in a primary series beginner class, so I skipped the tougher poses. I need to do more yoga regularly again, because it felt amazing to spend time doing it again.


After work on Wednesday I made my way to the gym and did some more cardio on the elliptical. I did 30 minutes before my cool down of walking the track. It was more of a low key workout, but sometimes that’s exactly what you need.


I took a rest day on Thursday.


I did a lower body workout on Friday morning to end off my workouts for the week. I actually ended up doing this workout minus the step ups. Because it’s a circuit workout it ended up going by pretty quick, which was nice. I love workouts like that. The worst is when you’re constantly checking the time, hoping to be done ASAP.


I also took a test day on Saturday.
