Today I’m sharing some of what’s been going on in my life over the last month. It’s a new feature I’m trying out here on GFF. Leave me a comment to let me know if you like it or not.
Back to routine.
First off, it feels so good to be back into my regular routine. As much as I love the holidays and everything that comes with it, I’m glad to be back at it. Everything from getting back to my regular healthier meals (not that I don’t love all of the treats that come with the holidays) and my regular schedule.
I’m feeling super excited to get working on my 2018 goals. Between blogging here and at Girl Meets Glitter and some other projects that I have up my sleeve, I’m pretty excited about what this year will bring. In the past I’ve had trouble breaking down bigger goals into something that I can work on daily, but I think I’m getting better at it finally. It feels like right now there’s so much potential about what I can achieve in 2018. I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels like that right now. What big things are you working on right now?
Clothes and makeup make all the difference.
I’m currently job hunting. I think about everyone agrees that it’s tough and can be hard on your confidence when you don’t get a job that you think you’d be a perfect fit for. Since I’m not going to work 5 times a week, I haven’t been putting a lot of effort into what I wear. If I only have a few errands to do, I’m much more likely to just go in yoga pants and a t shirt instead of taking some time with my outfit and put on a real outfit. I didn’t think that it really made a difference, but I think it does.
For the last couple weeks now I’ve been putting in more of an effort. I’ll put on an actual outfit that includes jewelry. Granted, I’m not getting dressed to the nines to go to the grocery store, but I’m definitely putting in more effort. Whenever I leave the house I put on mascara and lip gloss. While I doubt it makes much of a difference to anyone else, it’s made a huge difference to me. I’m not sure what it is exactly, but just making sure that I feel me best everyday makes me feel better.
Struggling with the gym.
I’m not going to lie, the whole getting to the gym first thing in the morning for a workout has been tough since the holidays. It’s been happening, but not as often as I would like. It’s really hard to get out of bed when it’s so easy to just turn off my alarm, roll over, and go back to sleep.
I just wanted to add that I’m sending out a newsletter tomorrow. If you’re not already signed up to receive my emails, just add your email here and you’ll start getting them beginning with tomorrow’s email.
