As usual for Fridays, today I’ll be sharing some of my favorites from the last week.

Marketing workshop

YYC Girl Gang Marketing Workshop

Monday night I headed downtown to Last Best Brewing for a workshop and networking. It was hosted by YYC Girl Gang, an organization that I’d been following for awhile on social media. When I found out that a friend was going to be the one doing the workshop, I was sold on it and signed up.

I’d never been the Last Best before, but we had an event room all to ourselves. The beer was delicious (I went with their Olsch Kolsch B’golsch) and so were the appetizers that they had out for us. Although I wish that the workshop had been a bit longer and gone into more depth, it was great to network with some of the other ladies at my table. I’m an introvert, so it can be tough sometimes to put myself out there, but all the people attending were really friendly which made it a lot easier. It ended up being a fun night and I’m so glad that I went.

Lindemans Framboise Lambic Beer

Lindemans Framboise Lambic Beer

Saturday afternoon I checked out a new liquor store that had opened up. The store was bigger than I was expecting, which meant that they had a huge selection of everything from wine to scotch to beer. I found a couple beers I thought I’d like.

I tried this one during date night on Saturday, and it was amazing! If you like Lambic beers, I highly recommend this raspberry one from Lindemans. It’s a good thing that I only bought one of them because I’m pretty sure that a few of these could get me in trouble.

Budget Bytes blog

Like I mentioned in my 2018 Goals post, I wanted to start meal planning more. Nearly 4 weeks in, and it’s been easier than I was expecting. All it takes is a bit of forethought and planning at the beginning of each week, which is easy to do. Picking a couple recipes, making a shopping list for those recipes, plus anything I need for breakfasts and snacks, and it’s done. It generally only take me 20 minutes to do, so it doesn’t have to take a lot of time.

One place that I’ve been finding a lot of recipe is Budget Bytes. Even though all of her recipes focus on being cost efficient, they’re always delicious and filling. If you’re ever in need of some recipes to try, check out Budget Bytes.

Pocket Casts app

Pocket Casts App

I first discovered podcasts a few years ago when Serial was super popular. Since then I’ve found a lot more that I enjoy listening to – everything from true crime to blogging to paranormal mysteries. A few months ago I discovered Pocket Casts and I’ve really been enjoying it. You can download episodes when you’re connected to wifi, and listen to them later so that you don’t have to use your data later when you want to listen to them. While it does cost a few dollars to download the app, there are no ads and it’s been perfect for me to use at the gym.
