Sunday was my scheduled rest day.
The new Y by me opened up on Monday, so I decided to check it out and do my workout there. It’s a beautiful facility. I spent 45 minutes on the elliptical and then went up on the track to walk for 10 minutes for my cool down.
I ended up taking Tuesday as a rest day. I slept terribly the night before and when my alarm went off at 4:45 am to go workout I turned it off and went back to sleep. I decided that sleep was more important than a workout.
I spent Wednesday’s workout outside. I went for a walk, and with the snow on the pathway (the one I went on doesn’t get plowed), it definitely felt like a lower body workout. My legs were tired by the time I got back home. It was also a lot of fun to be outside instead of at the gym.
I spent my workout at Thursday back at the new Y to do my first strength training workout of 2018. While doing strength workouts twice a week was one of my goals for 2018, I clearly haven’t been doing a very good job of getting them in yet. My workout included rows, lat pulldowns, bicep curls, and tricep extensions. I then spent 25 minutes on the track to add in some cardio.
I ended up at my usual Y for my workout on Friday and spent 30 minutes on the elliptical. While it wasn’t a very exciting workout, I did get get to listen to some podcasts so it went by pretty quick.
The weather was pretty nice on Saturday, so I decided to go for another walk. It felt great to be out in the fresh air and have some time to think.
