Becoming a CSEP Certified Personal Trainer certified

After passing my Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology exam a few weeks ago, I submitted all of my paperwork to get registered. They needed everything from proof that my university classes fulfilled their education requirements to transcripts and first aid/AED certification. I’m very happy to share that they’ve looked over my paperwork and I’m officially a Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology Certified Personal Trainer. This has been years in the making and I’m so excited that I’m officially done. Although I graduated back in June, I would have only been able to train clients at a gym through their insurance. Now that I have insurance through CSEP, I can train people on my own outside of a gym setting. I’m planning on writing a post about the certification post after Christmas to share what it was like.

Christmas

I’m so in the Christmas spirit. It’s hard to believe that Christmas Eve is just a few more days away. Right now I’m loving the Christmas carols, lights, and cheesy romantic Christmas movies on Netflix. If you’re looking for a Christmas movie to watch I wholeheartedly recommend It’s A Wonderful Life. I’m my all time favorite movie to watch at Christmas time. It has such a great message for this time of year. Even though I’ve watched it a million times, it still makes me cry every single time.

Pretty sunsets and sunrises

Sunrise

We’ve had some pretty unbelievable sunrises and sunsets over the last few weeks. I saw this one from the kitchen window as I was making breakfast after getting home from the gym. Isn’t it funny the difference that just a few minutes will make? On the drive home from the gym the sun wasn’t up yet, but I couldn’t have been home for more than 5 minutes when the sky looked like this. With the early sunsets and late sunrises, I’m really missing the sunshine. The days are short and nights are long at this time of year. I’m grateful for these pretty skies though, because they definitely help.

Seeing good friends

I have a few good friends that I only get to see a few times a year. Even though a substantial amount of time passes between each time we see each other, it always feels like we had just seen each other a week or two before. I think part of the reason why our friendship is so strong is because we’ve known each other for over 20 years now. I’m going to be seeing them at a Boxing Day party next week, so I’m really looking forward to it.

Re-reading Harry Potter

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone

I decided to start re-reading the Harry Potter series (affiliate link). It’s been a few years now since I’ve least read any of them, so it’s been fun so far getting immersed in the Harry Potter world and coming across little details that I’d forgotten over the years. The first few are quick, easy reads, so I’ve been feeling productive and working towards my goal of reading 3 books this month.
