This was a super busy week for me – did it fly by for anyone else too? I’m so glad the weekend is just about here. I’m looking forward to some relaxation and down time. As usual for Fridays here on GFF, I’ll be sharing my Friday Favorites.

For the last few weeks I’m been in hardcore study mode for my Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology exam to become a Certified Personal Trainer. I finally took it on Tuesday afternoon and I’m so glad it’s done! I got my results right away, so I found out that I passed minutes after I finished. On Wednesday I sent in all my paperwork (my university transcripts and first aid certification). I’m looking forward to a few weeks from now when I’ll be officially registered and I can train clients on my own, as well as in a gym. This certification has been two years in the making, with full time classes, two internships, knowing fitness assessments in and out, anatomy, physiology, and how to calculate VO2 max from various formulas. It feels so good to see the results of all of my hard work.
The Royal House of Windsor on Netflix
The British royal family has been front and center in the news this week with the engagement of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. I started watching The Royal House of Windsor last weekend and finished it yesterday. The documentary starts with the beginnings of the House of Windsor in 1917, and follows the monarchs and their family to present day. I loved hearing about the history and how things have changed over time for the British Monarchy. I think it’s worth checking out of you’re looking for something new to watch on Netflix.
Carnivore Club
My brother doesn’t read my blog, so I can share here what I got him for Christmas. He appreciates food and trying new things, so I thought Carnivore Club would be the perfect gift for him. There’s two sizes of boxes, and you can pick to give a one time gift or multiple months of boxes. He’s tough to buy for, but I’m pretty sure that he’s going to really enjoy this gift.
Nuun

I’d heard about nuun all over social media and blogs for years now, but I didn’t try it until a few weeks ago. You add them to your water when you’re working out and you need some extra electrolytes. When I’m doing a long sweaty workout, I’ll sometimes get headaches and calf cramps, which are most likely a result of losing too many electrolytes. Thankfully Nuun (affiliate link) helps to replace those electrolytes. They add some fizziness and flavor to the water in my water bottle which is also kind of nice. I’ve tried both the tropical and grape flavors so far and they’ve both delicious. I love that they’re only 10 calories and only have 1 gram of sugar.
Greek salads
This week I think I’ve eaten a Greek salad 4 or 5 times. I was craving one on Monday so I picked up spinach, bell peppers, olives, an onion, some feta cheese, and dressing to make one. I added some protein by sauteing some chicken to add on top of the salads. Needless to say, it was delicious and I’ve been eating them a ton this week. Easy and healthy meals like that are the best. They have a ton of flavor while still being good for me. If you’re looking for something easy to make for lunches, give a Greek salad a try.
