Today I’m sharing a 40 minute 80’s workout playlist with some of my favorite songs from that decade.

40 Minute 80's Workout Playlist

This 80’s workout playlist is one that I’ve been listening to for a few months now. I’ve been slowly adding songs to it when I’ve heard them, and I’m so glad that I did. Since I was born in the early 80’s, I know a lot of these songs, but not necessarily when they first came out. I remember Madonna being huge. We listened to Girls Just Want To Have Fun at camp when I was in Brownies (isn’t it funny how much you connect songs to different events in your life?)

One of my very first tapes (cause tapes were the newest things in the early 90’s was Paula Abdul’s Forever Your Girl and MC Hammer’s Please Hammer, Don’t Hurt ‘Em. I listened to both of those non stop. One time I remember a babysitter mentioning that she liked Paula Abdul, and I thought I was so cool because I had her tape. I figured if someone older and cooler than I was liked what I liked, I had to be cool too.

While I wasn’t really into music until I was a teenager in the 90’s, it’s still pretty fun to listen to 80’s music every once in awhile. I remember watching an interview with Tiffany on TV and thinking she was so pretty. I wanted long hair just like hers.

Speaking of Rhythm Nation, if you haven’t seen Joseph Gordon-Levitt doing this lip sync battle, you need to check it out. It’s actually the second song they perform, so you can skip the first half of the video (unless of course you’re interested in an MC Hammer song).
