Friday Favorites August 4 2017

It’s Friday, so that means it’s time for a Friday Favorites post, where I share some of my favorite things from the last week.

Cooler weather // While I dislike the cold, snowy weather of winter just as much as the next person, I’m also not a hot weather person. This summer we’ve had a lot of hot weather, at least for Calgary. Combined with the fact that most houses here don’t have air conditioning, there have been some pretty miserable days in terms of temperature. Thankfully this week has been cooler. It still feels like summer, just not melting-into-a-puddle-heat like it has been the past few weeks.

ColorPick Eyedropper // If you’re a blogger who also creates graphics for their blog, you should check out the ColorPick Eyedropper extension for Chrome. It allows you to select any color in an image within Chrome. This is perfect when you’re creating a blog graphic but just can’t get the right color to match the image you’re working with. The extension gives you the 6 digit RGB color that you can then use in your editing program, such as Canva.

My foam roller // For some reason I’ve had a really tight left his for the last few days. I have absolutely no idea why, but it’s been annoying. Needless to say, I’ve been spending a lot of quality time with my foam roller. While it hasn’t been particularly pleasant, I think it has helped loosen it up a bit. If you don’t have one or use one at the gym, I’d highly recommend you try one out.

Smart Passive Income // I can listen to my ipod while I’m work, so I usually have a bunch of podcasts on it. For the last couple weeks I’ve been listening to an old version of Smart Passive Income by Pat Flynn each day. While the episodes are several years old and some of the websites/technology Pat talks about are outdated, there’s still a lot of great information in them that I find helpful for building my blog.
