Friday Favorites July 28 2017

Another work week is over! It’s amazing how fast the summer is flying by. I can’t believe that it’s already the end of July. Before I know it, it’ll be fall. I’m all about taking advantage of the sunny and warm weather while it’s here. There will be snow on the ground soon enough. As usual for Fridays, I’ll be sharing my favorites from the last week.

Peek Prints // I’ve had my eye on a backdrop to use to take photos for awhile. Julie over at Peanut Butter Fingers had ordered one from Peek Prints before and said that she was happy with it. I’d been checking them out weekly, trying to decide what size and design I wanted. Last week I finally made up my mind and ordered one. It arrived this week and I’m so happy with it. I’ve taken some test photos with it and they’ve turned out great. Although shipping to Canada was expensive, I think it’ll be worth it.

Farmer’s market // This week I discovered a new to me farmer’s market. A friend on Twitter mentioned it to me at the end of June when I was in the middle of finals, so I didn’t make it until this week. It didn’t take long to find, and I was glad to see how many vendors were selling food – and particularly fruits and veggies. I got some amazing cherries. I also picked up a couple dips from Mom’s Happy Kitchen. Arce’s mango salsa is amazing!

Pexels // If you’re looking for free stock photos, check out Pexels.com. I just discovered it a few days ago and have fallen instantly in love with it. They have a ton of stock photos that are easy to search for and download. Make sure to check Pexels out if you’re a blogger.

Big Little Lies // I finished reading Big Little Lies a few weeks ago, so I thought I’d watch the HBO series based on the book. Like most adaptations, the TV show changes some things from the book, but overall I thought they stuck to the book pretty closely. Just a heads up that one of the characters deal with intimate partner violence, so there are a few graphic scenes of that. I won’t say anything else about that because I don’t want to give anything away, but I did want to give you guys a heads up. I thought the ending of the last episode was done really well. Such a great way to end the first season.

Your Favorite Coffeehouse channel on Spotify // If you’re anything like me, you find it hard to work in silence, but also get distracted when other people are talking. It’s a fine line, I know. I’ve found that listening to music can help me really focus. I’ve recently discovered Spotify’s different channels. I’ve been listening to Your Favorite Coffeehouse for a few days now and really enjoy it. It drowns out other noises while at the same time not being too distracting.
