I hope everyone had a great weekend – mine was pretty good. Friday was pretty laid back, I spent most of the night doing laundry and watching Dateline. I know, super exciting Friday night plans!
Saturday morning I hit up the Cochrane farmer’s market. I had never been before, so it was fun checking out some new to me vendors. Unfortunately there wasn’t as many food vendors as I was hoping for, so I just picked up a few veggies and some mini sour cherry pies (so delicious!). Afterwards I checked out Freshii for the first time. I got a strawberry banana smoothie. While it was tasty, it’s definitely more than I’d pay for a smoothie, so I think it’ll be a more of a once in awhile thing.
Saturday night I headed over to my boyfriend’s place. We ordered pizza and watched an episode of Anthony Bourdain Laos episode) and then watched the Nashville/Pittsburgh game. I was pretty excited that Nashville won by a landslide. I’m not much of a Crosby fan so I’m hoping that Nashville will win the Stanley Cup.
I started off Sunday by heading to the gym to get in a workout. Because I forgot my ipod I decided to split up my cardio because I was getting bored. So I did the following:
- 30 minutes on the elliptical
- Row machine 8 reps x 3 sets x 40 lbs
- Lat pulldown 8 reps x 3 sets x 27.5 lbs
- cable machine bicep curls 8 reps x 3 sets x 20 lbs
- cable tricep pulldowns 8 reps x 3 sets x 20 lbs
- 20 minutes on the bike
I was a sweaty and tired mess by the time I left, but the workout felt great. Once I took a shower and wasn’t stinky anymore, I watched 2 episodes of The Keepers. I’d heard about it online and it sounded interesting. Even though I’ve only watched 2 of 7 episodes I’m already hooked. I have a feeling I’ll be finished watching all of them in a couple days. Has anyone else watched it? I spent the rest of Sunday working on some homework and doing some blog work.
Today I wanted to recap my May goals and share my June goals.
One group fitness class per week // Yeah, this goal didn’t happen at all. I was definitely more into solo workouts this month instead of sweating it out with a room of other people. I still spent time at the gym, just on my own instead of with others.
Go to bed earlier // This one was definitely a success. I made a conscientious effort to be in bed earlier than I usually do, and it paid off. It was easier to get up earlier but I still felt like I got enough sleep. I was reading a few good books over the course of May, so I was actually looking forward to getting into bed so that I could spent some time reading – that definitely helped.
June goals:
Finish school strong // To be completely honest, it’s been tough focusing on school the last few weeks. It’s my last semester (woohoo!) but I wish I was already done. That’s meant that I haven’t had my usual motivation to get school work done, and I’ve procrastinated more than usual. I have 3 more weeks of classes before I write my finals the last week of June. I know I can get it done, it’ll just take more motivation that I currently have. So my goal for June is to get the same good marks that I’ve gotten up until now.
Continue planning for my future // I’ve spent a lot of time already thinking about what I want to do after I’m done school. I want to teach group fitness, do personal training, as well as make my blog more of a focus and make it a bigger part of my income. I’m also trying to figure out if I want to do yoga teacher training. Are you a yoga teacher? I’d love to hear any advice you might have for me! So my goal for June is to take some concrete steps to getting things set up for after I graduate.
