Happy Friday! I’m definitely glad that this week is over. Things have been kind of crazy on the school front. I had 2 midterms and an assignment due this week. Needless to say that I’m looking forward to this weekend.

On Saturday I’m heading to WordCampYYC at Fort Calgary. I’m excited to learn more about the behind the scenes technical side of blogging. I’m spending the rest of the weekend taking it easy, with everything going on at school.

Since it’s Friday, I thought I’d share 10 things that you probably don’t know about me.

I played junior high basketball // I’ve only ever played on one sports team, and that was on my grade 7 basketball team. We were pretty terrible (I think we only won 3 or 4 games that season), but it was still a pretty fun experience. I probably would have continued playing if I hadn’t moved the summer between grades 7 and 8.

I had two goldfish named after The Sopranos characters // The only pets allowed when I lived in res my first year of university was fish. I ended up getting two goldfish who I named after Tony and Carmela Soprano.

I’ve had 3 other blogs before GFF // They were about gardening, beauty, and the last one was more of a lifestyle blog. If I were ever to resurrect one of them, it would probably be the beauty blog.

Adele Concert 2016

I’m a concert person // You know how there’s some people who love live music, and then there’s others who enjoy listening to music on their ipod more? I’m definitely a concert person. The last two summers I’ve even gone on vacation to be able see U2 and Adele. My next concert is in October when I’ll be seeing Kings of Leon for the third time!

I’m a huge Sex and the City fan // Unfortunately I only got into it after the series ended, but I’m pretty sure that I’ve seen every episode at least a few times. My absolute favorite one is “My Motherboard, My Self” – it’s the episode where Miranda’s mother dies. Every time Miranda walks down the aisle of the church on her own at the funeral and Carrie joins her so she doesn’t have to walk alone makes me cry. Every. Single. Time.

The Sedin twins are my least favorite hockey players // The Sedins play for the Vancouver Canucks. There’s a huge rivalry between the Canucks and the Flames, so that probably has something to do with it. They clearly have a sense of humor though, or else they wouldn’t have made this commercial.

I was in guiding for 8 or 9 years // I started in Brownies (2 or 3 years), moved onto Guides (3 years), and then did Pathfinders for another 3 years. I probably would have continued on, but there wasn’t any other groups near me for the next age group. I actually ended up meeting my best friend in Guides. I’m pretty sure we’d still be friends but I moved half way across the country.

My favorite movies are horror movies // I’m all about the bad horror movies from the 80’s that end up being more funny than scary. I’m all about the cheesiness and overacting. Check out my absolute favorite horror movies here.

I’m a huge fan of the Canadian women’s national soccer team // I started playing soccer a few years ago, and that’s when I started following the Canadian women’s soccer team. They’ve been a huge inspiration to me and I’m so looking forward to them competing in the next World Cup.

I’m kind of left handed // I use my left hand to write, but use my right hand for pretty much everything else – using scissors, throwing, playing guitar, etc. I’m pretty sure I could learn to be ambidextrous pretty easily if I tried.
