Today I’m sharing my 2017 goals.

Happy new year! I hope you all had a great New Year’s Eve on Saturday. I spent it with my boyfriend watching Westworld. Since we were downtown we got to see fireworks at midnight which was fun. Make sure to follow me on Instagram to get a look into my day to day life.

Today I’n sharing some details on the goals that I want to achieve this year. If you’re interested in working on some goals for this year too, be sure to check out my goal setting posts here and here.

Finish school // I’m on track to graduate at the end of June. Although it’s only a two year diploma I’ll be very glad to be done school. I forgot how hard it is (lots of work, getting assignments done, the stress of midterms and finals). At the same time it’s felt like the first year and a half of school has flown by. I recently read the post where I shared that I got accepted into the program and I sounded so excited. Thankfully I’m just as excited to graduate and get working.

Complete NASM and group fitness certification // I’m on my way to have both of these certifications done by the time I graduate as well. I think they’ll really help me when it comes time to find my first full time job in the industry. Every little thing that sets me apart from others helps, right? I can honestly say that I’ve also learned a lot from both of them, which I think will make me a more well rounded trainer.

Start my business // This is the scariest thing on my list of goals for 2017, but it’s also the one I’m most excited about. This has been on my radar for awhile, but it’s always been a far off one day sort of goal. But I’m committing to making it happen in 2017. I’m still fine tuning the details, but I’m really looking forward to starting this side hustle.

Grow my blog // I really love blogging. It gives me a creative outlet (both writing and creating graphics) that I wouldn’t have otherwise. It’s also a lot of fun to connect with readers and other bloggers. My plan for 2017 is to be more consistent and create better quality content. I know it’s going to be more work, bur I’m looking forward to reaching more people and helping them along their fitness journey.

Practice yoga consistently // I have to admit that yoga hasn’t been a regular thing in 2016. Some weeks I would do it a couple times, other times I could go two or three weeks only doing it once. In 2017 I’m committing to doing yoga at least twice a week. That can include practicing on my own at home or going to a class.

Read more // Over the holiday break I’ve started reading again. It’s something that I used to love doing, but with school it’s tough to do. I’ve decided that I want to read one book a month for 2017. I know it’s not a big goal, but if I read 12 books in 2017, that’ll be more than I read in 2016. Does anyone have any book suggestions? I’d love to hear them.

Now that you know where I’ll be putting my focus in 2017, share one of your goals for 2017 in the comments below. I’d love to know what you’ll be working on this year.

Yoga is something I’d really like to be consistent at this year as well! I did it for a little while last year and I was really enjoying it. I was using the Gaiam Yoga Studio app and I thought it was pretty nice but I’ve never done a real class before so I bet it doesn’t really compare.
