Happy Friday and welcome to the last Friday Favorites post of 2016! It’s hard to believe that 2016 is almost over when it feels like it just started not all that long ago.
Time off // Tuesday was my last day of work until school starts up again the first week of January! Although I was only working part time, it’s nice to have some time away from both work and school to spend time with family.
Pentatonix // Last week there was a Pentatonix Christmas special on TV. While I’d never heard any of their music, I’d heard good things about them, so I put it on in the background while I was wrapping Christmas gifts. I’m sure glad I did because I absolutely love them! They’re an acapella group, and they put their own spin on some of my favorite Christmas songs. I decided to look for their music on Spotify, and I was excited to find that they even have a Christmas album with some of the songs that they performed on the special. If you’re looking for some Christmas music to enjoy, definitely check them out.
The Vanished Podcast // I’m a huge fan of podcasts. I first fell in love with them a few years ago with the Serial podcast, when it was first so popular. My most recent find has been The Vanished Podcast. Each episode is about a different missing person. All kinds of people are featured (kids, adults, women, men). No matter what the story, it’s always heartbreaking to think about families who have lost a loved one. It’s amazing to think of people just disappearing, and not being found despite all the hard work of family and law enforcement.
It’s a Wonderful Life // This is probably my all time favorite Christmas movie. It makes me cry every single time. It has such a good message, perfect for Christmas. While I have own both the black and white as well as the color version, it just seems weird in color, so I always watching it in black and while. If you somehow haven’t seen it, I’d definitely recommend it!
Christmas // Last but not least, I’m excited about Christmas. Everyone in my family has their own thing going on, so it’s great to have everyone together for a few days to celebrate. It’s not often that we have down time to spend together. As usual there’s also going to be some delicious food. My dad usually does an Italian meal on Christmas Eve, so this year he’s putting together a cheese board for appetizers, a pasta bake for the entree, and panettone for dessert. Of course we also have all the cookies that I’ve made the last few weeks. There’s no risk of us going hungry over the holidays.
I am obsessed with Pentatonix- they are my favorites! It’s a Wonderful Life is our Christmas Eve tradition, I’m so excited to watch it tomorrow night :)
