It’s time for another Friday Favorites post here on Get Fit Fiona.

Healthy free food // In one of the main corridors at my university they sometimes have tables set up for different events or clubs. For the most part if they’re giving out food to attract people as they walk by, it’s usually candy. But on Wednesday I was walking past and saw a couple big bowls of mandarin oranges. I was pretty excited to see something healthy being offered. You better believe that I stopped by the table and grabbed one. It was great timing since I had just finished lunch and the orange was perfectly sweet.
Friends // This week I got texts from two really good friends. One will be in Calgary from out of town next week. We’re going to get together for dinner. I love spending time together whenever she’s here because we pick up right where we left off the last time we saw each other. My other friend’s birthday is this week so we’re getting together with a few others for dinner and a movie. I’ve known both of them for close to twenty years and we always end up having fun when we’re together, so I’m really looking forward to the weekend.

Yoga // A couple weeks ago I signed up for Yoga Download (affiliate link). I got a great deal on a year long subscription, so I was pretty excited to do as much yoga as I want from home. I’ve been averaging a few classes per week and I’m hoping to be consistent with it. Because too much yoga isn’t possible.
Fitbit // My birthday is coming up in a couple weeks (how am I already another year older?!?!) and I’m considering getting a Fitbit with a few gift cards I have stashed away and some birthday money. I’ve managed to narrow it down to the Fitbit Charge 2 (affiliate link). The thing I like about it is that it has a heart rate monitor. While I know the wrist ones aren’t as accurate as the chest straps, I think having a general idea of where my heart rate is will be useful for workouts. Does anyone have one? Love it or hate it?

Pokemon Go // Is anyone else playing Pokemon Go? I have to admit that I’ve been hooked for the last few months. Yesterday I decided to head to campus to get a study session in before class. I ended up in the library and every 20 or so minutes for a quick break I’d open up my Pokemon Go app and catch a Pokemon or two. Well, I discovered that at one end of the library I’m within distance of a pokestop! So not only did I catch Pokemon, I also got to stock up on some pokeballs. It was a win/win situation. I got two and a half hours worth of reading done and I played a little Pokemon too.
