It’s time for another Friday Favorites post here on GFF.
Frozen strawberry lemonade // I ended up at one of my favorite coffee places last week for a study session. I got something different than I usually do and ordered a frozen strawberry lemonade. It was delicious and definitely something that I would get again.
Calgary Oktoberfest // This morning I managed to win myself two tickets to Oktoberfest! I’ve been a few times now and even posted about it last year. It’s great to have the opportunity to try a taste of beers that I wouldn’t normally order at a pub or buy because I’m not sure that I would like them. I’ve discovered more than a few favorites at past events so I’m looking forward to tomorrow. I’ve found that some of the smaller brands that attend are more than willing to have conversations and are so excited when I ask where to find their products in Calgary.
Harvesting the garden // Since the garden season is ending here in Calgary last week I harvested everything that was left in the garden. We tried growing potatoes for the first time this year and I was surprised at how many we ended up getting. They’re something that I know I’ll grow again because they were so easy. I also picked a few tomatoes (we didn’t get many this year), and a few HUGE zucchinis. I tried spiralizing for the first time this week with one of the zucchinis and they turned out really well.
How To Get Away With Murder // Did anyone else watch the season premiere of HTGAWM last night? It was soooo good, but at the same time I have so many questions right now. What’s the connection between Frank and Annalise’s baby? Who was on the stretcher in the back of the ambulance? Why did Frank leave? Who’s putting up the killer posters? Having to wait til next week to get some answers feels like forever.
Cheezies // I had a craving for cheezies a few days ago, so I bought some while I was at the grocery store. While I have no idea what an orange Sasquatch has to do with cheezies, they were delicious – even better than the name brand ones. In fact the entire bag might be gone already.
Etsy Made in Canada // Tonight I’m going to a Made in Canada event. Essentially local Etsy sellers all come to one place and sell their creations. While they’ve had the event in Calgary for a few years now, this is the first time I’ve been able to attend. I’m super excited to finally go. I’m planning on getting a few Christmas gifts while I’m there. I’ve heard that there were long lines last year, so if you’re planning on going make sure you get there early.
I had to scroll through this post really quickly because I’m not up to date on HTGAWM!!!! I can’t wait to catch season 2 when it is on netflix.
I’d definitely be in trouble if I had Netflix – there’s no way I’d get anything productive done. Viola Davis is an amazing actress. And Asher makes me laugh with his one liners and dancing.
