Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a good weekend. I thought today I’d share a bit about my weekend. I typically don’t do a lot of these posts because I usually forget to take photos, but I managed to remember for the most part this weekend.

Haircut

Friday started off with a new haircut! I can book my appointments online, and I was surprised to see that my last one was in November! Needless to say that a haircut was long overdue. Afterwards I got some some errands done. I found Cliff Bars on sale (10 for $10) so I stopped by London Drugs to get some. They’re perfect as snacks at school, so I usually keep a stash of them in my locker. It’s hard to believe that school starts in only a few weeks already! Friday night I spent on the couch watching the first Harry Potter movie. I want to re-watch all the movies in the next couple weeks.

Saturday morning I watched the Olympic women’s soccer game between Canada and Zimbabwe. Since Canada won they’ll most likely be moving forward to the next round. They play Germany on Tuesday, which will be a great game to watch. Since Canada won the bronze medal in the last Olympics I think a lot of people are expecting them to medal again. I’m hoping so, but the team is so different from four years ago.

Sweet Relief Bakery

I headed over to my boyfriend’s place after the soccer game. The plan was to walk around downtown to play some Pokemon Go (tell me I’m not the only one who plays that game!) and watch Stranger Things. We ended up walking around for close to two hours before it started raining, so we decided it was time to head inside. On the way back to his place we stopped at a little bakery he’d discovered this week, Sweet Relief.

Everything in there looked amazing. We ended up getting a couple cookies and a vanilla raspberry cupcake to split. IT was all really good, but I liked the cupcake the best. It’s hard to go wrong with the raspberry filling that was inside.

We spent the afternoon watching Stranger Things. He got me hooked last weekend when we watched the first two episodes. We watched four more and although things are starting to come together, I’m even more intrigued to see how the last two episodes will play out. I’ve been trying to avoid spoilers online and on social media cause I don’t want to know what happens. If you haven’t watched it I’d definitely recommend it. My boyfriend described it to me as The Goonies meets The X-Files.

Farmer's Market Haul

Sunday morning I headed to the farmer’s market with my dad. We ended up finding quite a bit of stuff! There’s a small town in Southern Alberta that’s known for their amazing corn. It’s seriously amazing and every summer I eat a ton of it. This weekend was the first one it was for sale at the market, so we bought half a dozen of them. The guy selling them said that the day before he’d sold a ton of it just himself – Calgary is clearly a fan of Taber corn. We also got a loaf of 6 grain bread (my favorite) and cranberry scones from the Rustic Sourdough, poppy seed bagels from Wayne’s Bagels, carrots, potatoes and a pint of blueberries from Walker’s Own, and two dips (artichoke and bacon) from Mom’s Happy Kitchen.

Are you watching any Olympic events? Playing Pokemon Go or watching Stranger Things?

Stranger Things is in my Netflix list right now! However, I’m so not a good suspense kinda tv person, so I don’t know if I’ll actually be able to watch it, lol.

I’ve really enjoyed it so far – hopefully you will too. At least give it a try and if you don’t like it you can turn it off after 15 minutes.
