First off, happy Independence Day to all my American readers. I hope you’re enjoying some time outside with family and friends today!

 July Goals

Before I dive into my July 2016 goals, I was to take a minute to reflect on how my June goals went. Spoiler: not so great.

My first goal was to workout outside. Other than a few walks, all of my other workouts were inside, despite the beautiful weather we’ve had lately. I think part of it was constantly being on the go with school and the end of the semester. Between getting assignments done and writing finals, there wasn’t a lot of leftover time.

My other goal for June was to track my food in My Fitness Pal three times per week. I started off the month doing great, but by the third week I’d stopped doing it. Boo.

The first goal I want to accomplish for July is to be in bed with the light off by 10 pm most nights of the week. It definitely gets tough to do that sometimes during the summer when it’s still light out at 10 pm, but I feel so much better the next day if I’m in bed early. It’s too easy to waste time and be unproductive late at night anyways. However this still gives me some wiggle room for date nights, Stampede (which is starting next week), and my vacation in Vancouver.

The next goal I have is to go to yoga once a week. Yoga used to be such a big part of my life, and I’d go to my favorite studio three or four a week. However with work and school it’s fallen by the wayside. I miss it a lot though, so I’ve decided to make an effort to get back into it. I’m taking the slow and steady approach by starting out with just one class a week.

Cut sweets down to two times per week is my last goal for the month. I have a huge sweet tooth, and it’s been out of control lately. I’m going to blame it on the stress of finals. Two treats per week still allows me to indulge but also cuts down on how much I’ve been eating lately.

Leave a comment with one of your goals for July.
