Today is Saturday so that means it’s time for a weekly workouts post. I’m sharing a recap of the workouts I did over the past week.

Weekly Workouts

Be sure to follow me on Instagram to get a look at my workouts throughout the week. I usually share them in my stories. If you’re looking for some workouts to try be sure to check out my workouts page.

Dad at Gym

Sunday I went to the gym with my dad. I designed a lower body workout for him and we went through it together. He has a bad back and knees, so part of the time was just figuring out what exercises he could do that wouldn’t aggravate his back and knees. He put his max effort in and I thought he did a great job. After the cool down he checked out the battle ropes and was pretty impressed by them. Out of all the things in the gym I didn’t think he’d like the ropes so much. I’m already figuring out ways to include them in the next workout. He said he wants to do these workouts more often, so I’m hoping that it’ll become a regular thing.

I had Monday off from school because it was a long weekend here in Canada.  I decided to go for a walk in my favorite park by the river. Although it was raining, I enjoyed myself. I’m one of those weird people who actually likes walks in the rain.

Tuesday I had to be at my internship bright and early at 7 am, so I didn’t get in a workout before. Once I got home I dived right into studying for my physiology midterm. I’m usually a morning person when it comes to workouts, so if it doesn’t happen before noon, it’s not very likely to happen at all. It turned into a rest day.

Wednesday was an unexpected rest day. I slept terribly the night before, so I ended up moving my alarm to an hour later in the middle of the night. The extra hour of sleep was really needed as I was taking my midterm on Wednesday.

Barre Workout

Thursday was a 25 minute barre workout with Sarah Kusch on Grokker (affiliate link). It’s been a few months since I last did a barre workout, so I’d forgotten how quick the burn starts. It’s so deceiving that even with the small movements your muscles are working hard.

Friday was another early morning of getting up at 5 am to get to my internship placement early. I took another rest day cause I wasn’t going to get up earlier for a workout.

HIIT workout

Saturday I did another workout on Grokker (affiliate link) this morning. This one was an almost 40 minute HIIT workout with lots of squats, lunges, and planks. It didn’t take long before I was a sweaty mess. 1 minute of curtsy lunges feels like forever! I’m pretty sure I’m going to be feeling my glutes and quads in the next day or two.

Now that you know what my weekly workouts were, share your toughest one from this week in the comments.
