December Goals December 2 2015

Before I get into my December goals, I want to share how I did with my November goals.

My first goal for November was to embrace winter. While I feel like I managed to do this, it still wasn’t a very tough goal. Usually we have a ton of snow by now, but there’s actually very little. The last week or we’ve had above freezing temperatures so while there’s still snow and on the ground, it’s not nearly as much as there usually is at this time of year. In addition, the warmer temperatures make life so much easier. There’s not as much ice. I don’t have to plug my car in to ensure it starts. It’s not winter coat, touque, scarf, and gloves weather, which means it takes substantially less time to get out of the door.

My other goal for November was to be more consistent with my workouts. Unfortunately I wasn’t very good with this one. Since it’s the end of the semester it’s felt like a marathon trying to get assignments done while also finding time to study and prepare for finals, not to mention work. That doesn’t leave much leftover time for me, which means workouts happened when I could fit them in, and it wasn’t nearly as often as I would have hoped.

As a result, I’ll be carrying over this goal from November. I now only have three finals to do, and I take the last one on the 11! I’m grateful that the end is in sight. That also means that I’ll have more time for workouts. Since the gym at school closes over the holiday break, that means that I’ll be doing more at home workouts and maybe even a yoga class or two. I’m also hoping that the workouts that I do get in before finals are over will help me deal with stress – I completely forgot how hard this point in the semester is!

My second goal for December will be getting to bed at a reasonable time. Over the last few weeks I’ve been going to bed later and later. I’ve definitely noticed a difference when my alarm goes off in the morning. It’s harder to get up when I’m not feeling like I got enough sleep. I figure getting started on making early bedtimes a habit again now will benefit me down the road in January when classes start back up again.

Now that you know about my goals for December, leave a comment below with one of yours.

Best of luck with your goals! Mine is to just be consistent with working out and staying with that habit through the coming weeks.
